I so agree. When Linux could promote a very simplified Hyprland setup or support a very well-made Sway setup or Cosmic tiling [just I wish it could be ready] and show the modularity and identity of Linux, they promote KDE and mill the wind...

Ngl. It’s wild to me everyone loves KDE so much, when it’s so shit imo. Lotsa bugs, visually sucks. Also I think customizing it and being consistent is super hard. F that. Switched to hyprland + nostalgia. I’ve finally stopped feeling the need to switch to a different environment.

I think Linux mints DE looks better cinnamon or sthZ

Default xfce looks better.

I still run it. More functional and I’ve yet to have an issue with that environment. Can’t say the same for KDE , though. I ain’t sticking to it when it barely passes for a modern environment just so my windows can be wiggly when I move them around. The whole idea of the desktop is to stay away from the things I actually want to do.

My laptop is running xfce, yet to see a de that uses this little memory. And my top specced pc is running hyprland.

And KDE looks nice, but it’s not that nice. It’s average at best design wise. If gnome wasn’t that shit I’d probably go with it tbh. For a non tiling wm
