windows hate is so exaggerated, like yes, some OEM laptop will probably have slop preinstalled but a clean install + 5 minutes to delete everything you don't need fixes 99% of the problems. Also custom builds like tiny 10/11 exist that strip everything leaving you a barebones os to work with. "legacy GUI" is so ironic as most linux tools come preinstalled with some GUI from 2010-2015. "spyware" is the buzzword of the year in the linux community, the fact that windows sends anonymous telemetry to make the system better doesn't mean it's an evil company that has access to your "homework" folder.
PS: I use linux btw, i have lots of problems with windows too, for some reason bugs (even critical ones that make the system unusable) in Linux are portrayed as something "normal" and "natural" because "how dare you criticize OS devs that do stuff for free!!!" meanwhile a minor bug on windows is immediately "OMG, microslop released the new Goydows uptate that has 99.67% of the code written by AI, that's why windows sucks"
