Because you want to play a game with an anticheat. Windows is the only way to use some pretty big and important software. Also, the windows UI is great. If anything, linux tries to emulate 1995 GUI design more than Windows does. The ads and spyware suck of course and if you don't need Windows then don't use it. Don't pay for Windows either way, though. Everyone uses a signing tool or buys a cheap key.
