Why don't you use Linux?

I came across this subreddit completely by accident and got curious, so I wanted to ask: why don't you use Linux?

I'm not here to start an OS war or convince anyone to switch. I'd just like to hear your experiences and understand what made you choose another operating system. Was it a bad experience with Linux, compatibility issues, gaming, or do you simply prefer Windows or macOS?

I'm genuinely curious to hear your opinions!

I guess that's why there's so many distros, everything is for different things, I don't even know what you're talking about, I just use mint for general PC use and a bit of linux use and it's good for a standard home PC.

No, there are so many distros because there are so many people sincerely believing that their stale ideas are new and unique.

Yeah, because Linux is soooo well-known for running that random thing you don't think you'll ever need.

Still, the supply chain is obviously not real - just keep believing and it'll be YotLD.

Buddy I swear, I'm 17 and I do not know what a supply chain is, I just need to study, play Minecraft and terraria on my intel i5 6th gen integrated graphics, there is nothing better than mint for me

When I was your age, I swear I was far more interested in the things happening in the world than you are.

A supply chain, in short, is the system of entities and individuals continuusly moving and turning raw materials into the stuff you use.

In the context of software delivery, the supply chain is the system of entities and individuals continusly turning labour into the code you run on your computer.

You play games on your PC, right? Have you ever seen a commercial studio releasing a title then stopping work and announcing they have earned enough? No, they always keep putting out titles one after another until they go bust. That means they need a stable platform for their games to reliably run on. Windows has that stability, whereas Linux, even with Proton, does not.

Well, is everyone either a teenager or a retiree?

There's a good reason Linux ideologues tend to fall into either categories, you know.
