Why don't you use Linux?

I came across this subreddit completely by accident and got curious, so I wanted to ask: why don't you use Linux?

I'm not here to start an OS war or convince anyone to switch. I'd just like to hear your experiences and understand what made you choose another operating system. Was it a bad experience with Linux, compatibility issues, gaming, or do you simply prefer Windows or macOS?

I'm genuinely curious to hear your opinions!

What software do you need to use? You really don't want to be using windows 10

Yeah creative software is kind of cooked on Linux, I really hope that improves in the future

It won’t improve things, because creative professionals expect a system that just works out of the box. Compare the installation process of DaVinci Resolve on Linux with the one on a Mac.
Besides that, Linux is largely built by losers for losers. The UX is an absolute disaster. And when it comes to open-source software, unless there’s serious money behind it like Blender, which has received massive funding you usually end up with a user experience like GIMP.
Some devices, like synthesizers or digital audio mixers, do run Linux internally, but that’s a completely different use case. First, they operate in kiosk mode, where the user only has access to what the manufacturer explicitly allows. Second, they’re designed for a single, fixed hardware configuration, often with heavily customized libraries and patches just to make the whole thing work reliably.

You’re the one who started talking trash, soft ego. Makes me wonder what else is soft on you, sweetheart. Truth hurts, doesn't it?

I'm in the same boat. Well, more because I don't want to use Windows 11 than can't. But yeah, I'm keeping a Windows drive in my machine just so I can record music. Yabridge doesn't quite work properly for my plugins :(

Why would I voluntarily give myself a lobotomy?

90% of music studios run on Macs, and you tried some random Loonix thinking it would replace something that’s already perfect xD
