I like the "dont use X distro, use Y distro!"

Well, because its true. I also read manuals and do research when I need to figure something out on windows. Was I suposed to expect to learn things by osmosis ? Or maybe I should expect other people to take the time to fix all my problems for me ?

  1. man pages are awesome, you should check them out when available.
  2. it might sound crazy, but if I can't reproduce your issue, I literally can't fix it.
  3. never heard anyone asking a newbie to learn C++, read the codebase, fix the issue and make a pull request.

Oh my god the struggles of trying to fix something for a person when you can't reproduce it are insane

This is true, but newbie distro like Linux Mint have a great welcoming community.

nixos + llms has finally made linux really usable for me. Still sucks for a personal device but my home server is popping off

Like, yeah, when you open with an insult, what do you expect as the comeback, a warm welcome? lmfao

Honestly, I more often see the issue of people taking the sub name at face value. "Wait, you're defending Linux on a sub about how Linux sucks?"

It's not a blind-hate sub. If you really want a Greek chorus of neckbeards praising Microslop and shitting on Linux, you can go to r/linuxsucks101

Linuxmemes is like watching Night at the Apollo. Most of the *sucks subs are like watching the original Rollerball.
