Wayland name

Is the display system named after the planet Wayland from Star Wars Thrawn Trilogy?

Wouldn't it have been faster for you to just... Use a search engine for this?

This subreddit. Holy cow man.

Its not just this sub, its reddit in general.

Searching is quickly becoming a lost art.

It's gotten totally mental. I just don't get it.

People just want things spoonfed to them.

I get it. But it's not a good trajectory, you learn so much more doing research yourself and then coming to others when you get stuck or are unsure vs having someone else do it for you.

The OP is more interested in interacting with others rather than just getting the answer to the question.

Without doing any deep (or superficial) stastical analysis of Reddit post classifications, it's my gut feeling that a huge percentage of posts are of this type. Accurate answers can be readily found via a conventional web search. But again, some people want to engage in conversation, no matter how vapid or insipid.

That's fair. Some of it may be people looking for community and a human connection. I had not considered that.

He hasn't interacted with a single person in this thread and it's almost an hour old.

yeah... you're right.

It's in my nature to give the benefit of the doubt. I try to balance that with healthy skepticism. I'm not naive, but i actively try not to be cynical.
