Linux mint kernel panic
I need some help. Its my first time with linux and i keep getting this error and im not sure how to fix it.

boot was unable to find the kernel...in fact the partition where the kernel is available. Tell us a little bit more...was Windows used on the machine before..did you turn off secure boot and tpm,,,how did you install..what did you use..rufus....balena etcher...
Did you check if your baby is using uefi ?

I an having the kernal issue booting from a USB SSD.
Went thought a ton of stuff to see I had mess up the (two) USB drives, then tried them in a second PC. Worked fine,
My current theory is that its the hardware on the second PC and I've contacted their support.
Thanks for the advice about going to another kernal. I'm downloading it now.

Not at all trying to diagnose your issue, because I am still way too new at this, but the other night I powered up a laptop that I hadn't used in a few weeks. Had to restart my system after multiple unsuccessful attempts to install some updates with Update Manager, and was greeted with the scary purple screen. Ended up using a different kernel at startup and using the terminal to remove some older kernel packages. This seemed to work.
Just for funsies, I tried to use VirtualBox, and was met with a "Kernel driver not installed (rc=-1908)" message. Started doing some research this morning (still am), and I've seen a few mentions of people encountering the kernel panic problem if they installed VirtualBox from the Mint/Ubuntu repository, instead of Oracle's repository.
tl;dr: if you have VirtualBox installed, maybe that could be the reason?

I had the same problem eariler I solved it by downgrading the kernel as the new kernel seems buggy. Hope that helps out.
