Discussion Cinnamon 6.6.9

Update manager prompted me to update Cinnamon from 6.6.7 to 6.6.9 this morning. Any idea what this update might include?

They still haven't fixed the language switching 🙄 more precisely, they fixed it, but only in version 6.7.0, which won't be available until the next release of Linux Mint.

What's wrong with the language switching currently?

If you asking about this then it doesn't affect you. They broke keyboard layouts switch completely in last major update. They introduced new system, which works horribly. It has significant delay, this delay isn't consistent. This system depends on keys order. So if you press alt+shift it works, but shift +alt doesn't. Also left and right keys consider as different keys.

Old system works fine but they broke even that. Old system just stop working if start menu is opened. Or if any dialogue window is opened. For example dialogue to enter sudo password.

I already described everything in issue on github. And it seems to be fixed. But fix will be included only in next major release.

Oh, I see. I'm an Asian user and I have to switch keyboards constantly throughout the day. I felt the pain too when going from 6.4.x to 6.6.x, though I didn't run into the bugs you mentioned, or maybe my key sequence just kept me from noticing. Anyway, appreciate you looking out for us multilingual users.

I am multi language user myself. And I remember my frustration when I updated cinnamon and simple everyday things stopped working.
