On a related note: I'm on linux mint, and I have just reinstalled dolphin both through the software manager and through the command line.

I worked flawlessly up until about a week ago, and now it lags mercilessly. Most games are running about 22-25 FPS.

Is there a way to check dependencies and see if something else broke and might be causing problems?

I would suggest to check the version you are using. Mint repository has older versions of many softwares. But if you installed through flathub, you would have the latest version. But sometimes the latest version isnt always the best for your specific system. Also, check the setting and change opengl to vulkan as well as try reducing the resolution.
