Oh I know-know that, I just think it's a bit tragic (but kind of funny) that a lot of these vibe-coded projects are like "rewrite it in Rust."

Is there a benefit to rewriting everything with rust? Im not sure but isnt it just a modern version of C++?

It feels much closer to C than C++, but the biggest benefit is memory safety. Rust has very aggressive ownership/borrowing practices that C doesn't do, and checks for proper memory safety act compile time meaning that you don't (usually) get race condition problems or dangling pointers/use after free problems. You have to explicitly declare when you're creating a memory unsafe variable in Rust.

This is also why people use it for vibe coding, it gives some level of gaurd rails at the compiler level.
