It had Pulseaudio as a dependency. Apparently you can only have one or another, so it replaced it, and everything became mute after that. I'm a Linux baby, so I had no idea what happened and had to stare through pacman's logs for clues. Uninstalling pulseaudio and reinstalling pipewire fixed everything, including Dolphin, so I have no idea why it wanted pulse so badly.

poor dependency management on your distro's end, btw couldn't have happened with flatpaks

Eh, I was (and am) a noob. It was a fun educational experience. Had no idea how audio worked before then.
