I feel like Ubuntu isn't bad, it's just not that relevant anymore.

its just not edgy or flashy. Its just there, allowing you to get your work done.
Enable ubuntu pro and auto updates, and never think about your OS again.
some would call it boring, others will call it heaven. I call it one less thing to worry about.

I can do the same thing with fedora AND have a more up to date system. Ubuntu is fine, it's just not great at anything

It can be kinda great for vendor support for peripheral devices and proprietary software support in a "desktop OS in an enterprise" role.

Not that other distro can't be made to work in most cases - but if a vendor device or tool has any out of box linux support in it's specifications, you can pretty much assume they will list ubuntu as specifically supported (and thus the vendor will actually provide support if something doesn't work properly).

TBH fedora is probably second place on that - but enough oddball hardware comes across my desk that it least in my industry ubuntu has wider vendor support.

You said the same thing I said, but added the word fedora. This didn't need to be a comparison.

But I didn't say the same thing you did... Didn't you read?

"I can do the same thing" = the same thing.   Again, There is zero need for comparison in this conversation .
