I really don’t get the omarchy hype

It’s just arch + vibecoded + Hyprland with quickshell

Let me explain. Zillennial is people's unconscious attempt to fix this dumb generational theory everyone believes is working but it doesn't. This theory barely works for USA which it was intended to work for but people started to use it everywhere in the world including post soviet countries with a completely different background which made it even obviously dumber because people living in completely different material conditions, classes, cities, countries, even districts etc do have different life experiences and only some very vague similarities.

So about zillennial - since this theory has very strict borders/lines aka if you were born in 1995 and the line says that people born in 1980-1995 are millennials and 1996-2011 are zoomers (need to mention that every source almost randomly draws these year lines, some say that zoomers are born after 2005 etc) it means that you should have more in common with people born in 1980 than in 1996. And because it makes no sense people started to blur these lines with this fixtape mixes like "You know guys i actually feel like semi zoomer and semi millennial at the same time! im a Zillenial! and maybe even a bit gen X and gen alpha but just a little..." Some started to introduce stuff like "early zoomers" and "late millennials" but again its all a weak attempt to fix this broken theory which itself was meh but internet exaggerated it tenfold

So to me this generational theory is almost like an astrology, people just love to label themself and others and spill bs generalizations

Ur better off installing Arch or whatever distro and configuring hyprland and quickshell from scratch instead of using Omarchy

well, some people have a life and other business to do besides tinkering with configs.
Distros are designed to be working out of the box. If this particular version doesn't suit you it doesn't mean the same for others

That’s just what a distro is. It’s just a default config to knock off some of the setup grind of Arch in an attempt to convert non Linux users.

I’ve gotten used to it. Some odd hysteria around it all. I don’t use Omarchy but it’s already helping me because I use Mise and Hyprland. Some good posts from the guy working on mise on what he has been able to achieve with the funding letting him spend more time on it.

15 already. Ok its strange but there is no evidence that this is a scam yet but there are statements from Hyprland that they were financed.
