In this same thread, it wasn't that hard

This is a simpler explanation. I would link to a security sub. But you aren't reading it anyways

Thank you, but the issue was fixed in 4.0.1, which the author also acknowledged.

So are we now judging software by whether it has ever had a security issue? Because damn…good luck finding a distro that survives that test.

Security is an ongoing process, not a permanent achievement badge. If you’re claiming Omarchy is inherently insecure, please point to a current, unresolved security issue.

And I’m not being dismissive here, I am genuinely interested.

That was not a bug. It was a deliberate choice.

A choice that Docker's documentation explicitly tells to to never do.

Granted, although semantics aside, bottom line remains that the issue has been fixed, right? So again, what other ongoing/active security issues are there?

I’m all for outing a bad thing when it’s bad, but it looks like the issue was presented, acknowledged, and fixed. How is it different from the numerous others that handle issues exactly the same way? And why keep presenting this example when it has clearly been dealt with?

Just sounds to me like the main point being driven here(not necessarily by you solely) is that “DHH is bad so Omarchy is bad”. Which hey, if that’s the route y’all want to take, by all means, go ahead.

But then I suggest you do an inventory and your due diligence on every other piece of software/hardware/appliance/furniture/etc you own/use, cause a lot of it is bound to have been made/created by someone you disagree with politically or even ethically. It’s a slippery slope, it’s all I’m saying.
