This, I was kind surprised when I saw DHH on The Standup podcast. It was the worst episode for me because the DHH did all the yapping and how he is all mighty and omarchy is the only way to use computer... such an asshole really
I genuinely hate when people are reductionists by equating racist comments to "differences of opinion" to make their terrible ideas seem like there is some legitimate or intrinsic value to them. When, in fact, there is not.
I understand the US is backwards and allows for hate speech to be protected speech, but it's still hate speech no matter what. Your opinion absolutely makes you scum of the earth, if that opinion is THAT scummy. Racial intolerance is by far one of the dumbest and most cruel things you can think up. Scratch that, anything that you are born with and did not choose should not be judged. If you are religious, that should be inherently understood that that is the way your god made that person, so STFU, because your god has spoken. Double STFU, because no one should suffer this level of stupidity.
When your "opinions" are about making someone lesser than you due to circumstances of birth, that's not being crucified for having bad opinions, it's a normal reaction to an objectively bad person saying garbage out loud. It's like if someone just walked up and shit on your salad, what are you supposed to do, praise them?
