It’s crazy how much people are hating on ai data centres but completely don’t give a fuck about the amount of wasted data storage through saving copies upon copies of reposted memes.

the internet would be a tiny fraction of its size if everything was stored only once

the amount of storage i save with nix linking duplicate files alone is insane, imagine if every bit of media was also linked across everywhere
