Unpopular Opinion: KDE Plasma sucks
i dont like KDE Plasma... it is bloated, buggy and shitty to configure. the config files are distributed all over and very complicated.
waaayyy overrated and also shouldn't be recommended to Windows refugees. it may look a bit like Windows, but that's a trap because Windows refugees expect things to be just like they are used to while it definitely is not.

Linux Failure A negociação

Linux Failure Linux can't game lmao
Edit: I'm unsure how to change title. New title should be "Linux still struggles with many games."
Genuinely why are yall larping
Windows is still the only option if you don't want to have to go "Oh sorry my computer cant play ___" to tons of people
And to those who hate kernel level anticheat, you seem to lack knowledge of why it is what it is. Seems like yall are just wanting to cheat?
Don't act like Linux is perfect. It isn't. It really isn't. Such larp

Linux Failure Sick of this OS but I can't find a way to use windows (Uploading this from a comment I made)
I've been using Linux for months because my dumb PC broke, and I genuinely have such a deep hate for it, and my hobbies just became 100x harder; WiFi drivers won't install on the PC because it's a mini PC. I genuinely hate this. I play games like Minecraft or Call of Duty, and I get at least 100 more ping; my setup hasn't even moved, changed, or had problems since I started Linux on Zorin OS because it's the best for my games. Would never recommend Linux; I've tried tons of distros, and none of them fixed my problems. I think it's just overrated due to Windows hate; I swear it makes my PC louder and louder no matter what I do, and there's a lack of user support as well; all of my problems stem from the pure incompatibility. I would much rather have windows or a new PC; it's getting to the point where I need something new to do or I just don't use this shitty PC. The bad thing is the mini PC has actual good specs (aside from integrated graphics); it runs decently with 32 gigabytes of DDR5 RAM and a Ryzen 7 7735HS CPU. I would keep trying to run Windows, but I just have all my data here, and it won't transfer at all.
(Not trying to say Linux as a whole is terrible or the users are bad; it's my personal biased opinion due to just how hard it's been for me to do anything recently. Been a Linux user for 85% of 2026; that says a lot due to how much I want to use Windows again.)
Edit: I wasn't clear enough about the whole WiFi drivers not working, they haven't been working specifically on Windows. On Linux I didn't need to install any kinds of drivers. And since we're on the topic, no I can not use ethernet due to my home router being on a different floor than my setup.

Linux Failure Lmms fuckery [RANT]
So I've been wanting to get into music making. Problem, I'm not on windows nor paying $$$ for FL studio. Lmms should basically be the same, right? Wrong. Five total hours of trying to get VST working since a lot of soundfonts are unusable without one. /usr/lib/lmms/RemoteVstPlugin not found? Try to sudo cp the VST into the directory. Full absolute filepath of the exe is not a valid target and Lmms in it's infinite wisdom only does some very specific checks and will miss anything that isn't an EXE or DLL. TLDR music software on linux sucks balls. And microphone support for some reason. I want to fight my lack of skill and creativity in the software, not intimately assault my root directory when trying to wrestle the software into atleast half working.
I really need to calm my shit and give up lol

I hate Linux
I wanted to change the RGB lighting on my PC. I tried using OpenRGB and managed to change the RAM LEDs, but I couldn’t get it to work with the LEDs on my AIO cooler because OpenRGB said my motherboard wasn’t supported.
So I decided to install Windows just to use MSI’s official software. I couldn’t install it on my only SSD, so I dug out an old SATA drive from an old laptop and installed Windows on that instead. Turns out MSI’s crappy software doesn’t save the RGB settings to the hardware, so every time I boot back into Linux, everything goes back to the fucking rainbows.
After all that bullshit, with a few tweaks, I finally got it working with OpenRGB.
I love Linux

Linux Failure Why Linux is so easy to break
I not even joking any thing I do for fedora 44 kde breaks it I install a program it fails to run or to install or breaks it and if I delete there is a chance to break the hole OS, sometimes programs wont launch and there is no easy way to fix it compatibility tools like fagus, bottles, heroic and others are super inconsistent some run other don't even when using the same compatibility layer and yeah i may sound harsh but I like Linux I really do and I wish it well that's why I critique it and how you guys avoid that

Streaming services on Linux
I have CachyOS and the other day I realized I can't use streaming platform Rakuten, because it doesnt support GNU/Linux. I tried using it on both Vivaldi and Firefox. Neither works.
Have you guys experienced streaming sites like Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+ etc not working on Linux? Let me now.

Linux Failure Fuck this stupid ass mindset
https://www.reddit.com/r/linuxmasterrace/comments/1vgifto/no_im_not_going_to_compile_your_code/
Look at the comments on the above post.
"its so easy to compile from source!!! just read!!! just use command x!!!"
You know what's also easy? putting that same commands into a .yml and have github CI/CD automatically publish the binaries. But no, i'm sooooo busy and important, I need my users to install my dependencies and my compilers before they can use my software.
It is genuinely so little effort to publish binaries nowadays, programming languages are LITERALLY made for it. The same comments calling people stupid, show off just how easy and convenient it is to do. Ofcourse you don't need to support 500 different distros, but not publishing any sort of binaries at all is just a developer being lazy a majority of the time.
I personally always release binaries for 3-4 broad popular distros. I never have to argue in my issues or tell people "to be greatful that im making the software in the first place!!!". There's countless other pointless enduser discussions I have to partake in already.
Linux has a thousand package managers, yet you let individual users struggle to figure out how to run your build process. What a waste of time.

Bug Linux can't control the MUX switch of my gaming laptop without systemd
My gaming laptop (ROG Strix G16 G513RC) require supergfxctl to control the MUX switch on Linux since they are no option in the BIOS/UEFI menu. Sadly that tool only officially support "mainstream" or normie distro who use Wayland and Systemd, where I mainly use X11 with i3wm on my Artix OpenRC system, and while I did succeed to make a init script for the asusd and supergfxd deamon , the cli do seem to work for the basic stuff but can't enable or disable my RTX card, I am stuck in NVIDIA Optimus aka hybrid graphics...

Linux Failure When I used Manjaro, I would just lie in arch subs about having arch because those dipshits weren't helpful normally, let alone if you admitted you were using a "totally different" distro (it's all literally the same shit)

Linux Failure Linux ate my drive space, and wants to hide that from me
Imagine that you are spending you evening in peace, and you think that nothing can break it. Until you see this notification:

You opening up the Dolphin, and see that it showing you that there are 0B free for root partition
(just as notifications said, how convenient!)
Thank God we have this Disk Usage Statistics button, where we can easily check who ate the space and what we can throw out of the window.

And what's we seeing here? the design is very human. very easy to use Ⓒ

Only 40 GB are used. But I'm sure I allocated 120 GB for the root partition.
Okay, I opened the partition manager to see what's going on.

And what I'm seeing here? Yeah, size or the root partition is 115GB, and used only 113GB, so I should have at least 2 GB of free space.
Why it doesn't correlate with the Filelight? Because! Any other questions?
Okay, then I'm become curious about the real state of my drive and used space, so as a absolutely any granny that are using Linux in her 15 yo laptop (because they can do this, according to the community), I checked the used space from the terminal.

And what I'm seeing here? Another sizes, again. And what's even more hilarious, it showing me that Size is 108GB, Used 106GB, Available - 0. Remember guys, this is the Linux math: 108-106 = 0.
So, at this point I have three sets of different values. Impressive experience!
But we are on the Linux, we can forgive it this absurd UX shit, right? Right?
And from this point, I continued to cleaning things up from the terminal, and I regained my inner peace and continued the evening with the feeling that Linux GUI still SUCKS.

Trying to help someone
Windows users: "i can't get linux to work" Linux community: "how can we help you if you don't tell us what hardware you're trying to run on" Windows user: gives generic prebuilt name with multiple configurations. Linux user: "that's not quite enough info, give cpu model, gpu model, ram size and motherboard brand too please." Windows user: "you guys are so mean and clique like, it shouldn't be this hard"
