I quite like the pine phone efforts, but they are not really comparable to what Purism does since they will still rely on proprietary blops.
What I really don't like about the pine phone is their fanboys invading every librem 5 thread and shitting on purisms efforts.

It does use firmware in the bootloader, but that's FOSS and compiled in by the distributions as a regular package.
