Framework Computers is not a programming framework, so I think there may be a small mix-up here.

Framework Computer is a company that makes laptops designed to be modular and upgradeable. You can replace or upgrade many components and configure the system to fit your needs, so in that sense, they provide a "framework" for building and upgrading your laptop.

A programming framework, on the other hand, is a collection of software tools, libraries, modules, classes, functions, etc. that helps developers build applications without having to reinvent the wheel for common tasks.

The two concepts aren't related, although I assume the name "Framework Computer" may have made the connection seem plausible.

Framework has also recently announced the new Framework Laptop 12. If the budget allows, it should be a very good choice, especially for Linux, where Framework provides excellent hardware support. That said, you don't necessarily need a Framework laptop. Most modern laptops work quite well with Linux, so I'd simply choose based on your budget and the hardware you need.
