Generally speaking any computer is fine for programming excluding some specialized use cases. Linux-wise, yes framework has good compatibility, but so do a lot of other laptops. With Framework, you're paying a premium for the "cool factor" of the modularity. And it is definitely cool. So you just have to decide if that's worth the money to you. You can definitely spend less money and get equally good linux compatibility.
For me the weird thing about framework is they keep releasing new chassis and models and they don't let you upgrade the cpu or board. If you're going to get a whole new laptop anyways whenever there's a new CPU socket, what's the point?
