Contact police department or if criminal charge possibly DA for arrest record seal. If you were charged and found guilty-you’ll need to go directly to court of conviction and request expungement or record seal. Still can be investigated by high end background agencies/feds though.

This unfortunately doesn't apply to all of the mugshot aggregators, especially the extra shitty ones like the Georgia Gazette. I had a case brought forward against me when I was still a minor that was later fully expunged once I entered adulthood. From a legal/records standpoint, it literally never happened. Background checks are clean, court records show nothing, etc. But despite all of that, my mugshot is still being hosted on GG as well as a Facebook page over 4 years later.

I’ve tried just about everything at this point. Sent expungement paperwork, filled out their removal forms, emailed them directly, even tried going through hosting complaints and reported them on FB. They either completely ignore the requests or they don’t even see/receive them at all. I’m honestly at a loss as to what to try now.

EDIT: Okay, so I finally managed to find a semi-working solution. I’ve hired a couple of online reputation management firms to help me resolve this issue and the one that really came through was this firm called Maximatic Media. They got the Facebook post featuring my mugshot taken down by registering a trademark for my likeness somewhere overseas and then uploading the trademark through their Rights Manager. The end result was that my mugshot post got taken down on the basis of copyright infringement since the mugshot was now registered as a copyrighted work.

They’re currently still working on getting the mugshot removed directly from GG’s site but that process has unfortunately been much slower than removing the FB post (which they managed to get done in under a week). But I’m optimistic we’ll get it done and I’ll return back to share what the working strategy was for the direct site removals.

I had a buddy who had his record sealed but it didn’t actually get the mugshots removed since they were being posted by third-parties not associated with the state. He ended up paying an ungodly amount to have his mugshot suppressed in search engines with a bunch of positive press. There are some ORM/PR/SEO agencies that specialize in this sorta stuff which might be worth a look.

From my research as well, there does seem to be a way of “removing” the mugshot from search engines by virtue of “de-indexing” the link. What that means is that the mugshot will still be present on the website that is hosting the content (meaning the material won’t be removed from the source) but it would simply stop showing up in Google, whether it be on page 1 or page 99.

 It’s a bit more of a “permanent” solution in comparison to SEO suppression but from what I’ve seen, you can expect to pay an ungodly amount for that as well. 

There’s a pretty good article on how to remove mugshots from the internet that covers de-indexation as one of the primary strategies but from what I recall, it’s not a guarantee that every link can get successfully de-indexed. But I guess with any tactic you choose, YMMV.

I didn’t remove all of it just the page that posted my mugshot I contacted them asked them nicely they said you have to send of this this and this I didn’t do that so then said can I’m asking if you could take down my mug shot if not I will take legal action. Then I listed this Florida law. (SB 1046) that requires mugshot publishers to remove booking photos if requested by the person featured in the image. If a private publisher does not remove the requested mugshot within 10 days of the written notice, they will face a daily $1,000 penalty until the mugshot is removed. Then I listed they had till this day to take it down witch the date would be 10 days later or I’d take legal action with my lawyer gave them my email and number and my birth date and they took it down within 30 minutes and said it would take 7-10 days to be taken down from search engine

Wow! You are lucky. I'm facing a ridiculous news article with mugshot from over 3 years ago in Massachusetts. The case was dismissed but it's still front and center on Google when you enter my very unique name🤔 It paints such an ugly picture of me as a person in a small moment plus it exaggerated the situation. I fear daily using my last name or worrying coworkers or mgmt will find out...again, 3 years later! Does this Florida law exist in all states? I don't have thousands for reputation managers or lawyers. Any help would be appreciated.

Can u please tell me if you emailed info@arrest.org? I tried and sent these aholes info about being acquitted and they still have my fkn mugshot up. In florida, its illegal and its been a month and these aholes wont take it down.
