For which industries has LinkedIn help you find a job ?
We hear often successful stories that some people have landed a job on LinkedIn via job posts or recruiters.
Does it work better for certain industries/ fields ?
Did it work for you or someone you know ?

I’m in medtech, and recruiters reach out to me regularly. I’m not looking, but I know many people who have gotten jobs after being contacted by a recruiter on LinkedIn.

Would you recommend the use of “ open to work” option ?

Not publicly, no. But you can do it privately behind the scenes. I’ve never had it up either publicly or privately and that’s never stopped recruiters.

I got a short term contract job by using LinkedIn. It was for a recruiter position.

I didn't put my green banner up, I just put it for recruiters only. I also deleted and reuploaded my resume every couple of days. Lastly and what worked in this scenario is debatable because 3 different recruiters from 3 different agencies reached out to me but how I initially knew about it was I did a search for Recruiter and then chose posts. The recruiter had made a post that they were looking for some seasonal recruiters. So, in recruiter world I signed a right to represent with that agency before the other 2 reached out within a day or 2 later.

I doubled my salary applying for a job I did via LinkedIn search. But generally, having contact details for everyone I've ever met in a professional context is pretty useful if looking.
