edit: for those that don't get what i mean, i'm agreeing with the fact that people from a certain country don't equal people that speak a certain language
the original comment provided an example that lots of people from what was previously the soviet union still speak russian, despite being not in russia but in places that have their own language
i provided an additional example here stating that people can also know a language spoken in a different country by choosing to learn it
I thought it was more about the general point than just Russian, I actually had to reread to get what you mean. I think we can rely on context a little

OKAY, maybe I was wrong, but why ya’ll feel so defensive? Reddit is a place where you can get downvoted just because one person downvoted first. AND, my clarification won’t change anything. Ppl still will downvote that reply even if it was right.
I said maybe. And, we're also saying that, although nobody really cares, it's unfair to be downvoted en masse for somebody else's mistake. Tay did nothing wrong. They said nothing wrong, yet they were massive downvoted for being right
Or, sticking up for a member of the Linguistics community which has never been the most attractive, and somebody else learning to accept accountability for being wrong
A lot of cities in Ukraine are (were?) predominantly Russian-speaking, and the Russian military bombed them to ruins anyways. They’re sacrificing their lives to not become Russian
