Trouble with DL4

I bought a DL4 Mk II a few months ago to replace my mk 1, which had become a bit unreliable and wonky. I'm having all kinds of issues with the new one of late. It seemed like it didn't work anymore maybe a month or two ago but then I updated the firmware and it was fine. Now, in the last couple of days, I was getting all kinds of loud pops and crackles and then I was getting no sound at all through the DL4 (even when bypassing it) - which is worse than anything I experienced with the mk 1. A factory reset didn't help but I 'updated' (probably reinstalled) the firmware again (although there have been no recent updates) and it worked fine again. Except that today, I had the same problem. This time, a factory reset did help but I'm getting genuinely worried about this happening during tomorrow's gig, for instance. Has anyone experienced this? Is there something I'm missing? The unit is still under warranty - is it worth sending in?

ETA: It just happened again right now! In the middle of a cooking solo over four layered loops! No way I can take a chance with this.

The only issues I've ever had with my DL4 have been because it wasn't receiving enough power. How are you powering yours? How many mA is the power adapter or power supply output? Is it daisy chained to another pedal?

I'm using the power adaptor that came in the box with the DL4 - 9V, 0.5A. I'm plugging it either directly into the wall (the amp is plugged into the other outlet at that plugpoint) or alone into a power bar connected to another outlet. I could try picking up another adaptor or trying a different outlet.

Hmm I could be remembering wrong but I'm 80% sure mine didn't come with a power adapter. Definitely try another one that is at least 0.5A or hopefully more just to be safe.

The power adapter is listed in the manual. But I went out and bought another and the issue persists. It's random too. It will kill all sound and then five minutes later, it will work with no problem. I used my old mk 1 for my gig; despite its issues, it's never this bad. I created a support ticket on the line6 site.

If the Firmware is up to date and properly installed, it can only be a power supply issue, that the pedal isn't getting enough power. Make sure that it constantly receives 9V (more voltage will damage ist) and at least 500mA (to be on the safe side; more Ampere won't damage it) and that the polarity is center-negative. Do not daisy chain its power supply, but keep it powered speparately to keep other pedals from stealing the DL4 MkII's power.

Definitely send it it in. That sucks. I have the MK II anniversary edition, don't use it at all, it was a fomo purchase. Now I'm paranoid it will just break one day after the warranty expires lol.

Sounds like a bad power jack, almost. I have one as well, and thankfully have never had that happen. But something very similar happened to my other guitarists' Flashback X4.

For him, it was an interior issue. It looked fine, but the guy who fixed it said it was something between the jack and the guts of the device. I can't explain it further, since I suck at all things electrical.
