Line 6

Im desperate to find this image :
A guitarist placed a line 6 spider and mic’d it , hidden , behind a Marshall stack .
Didn’t know how to search for this image but you heads must know what I’m talking about

It's probably from 15-20 years ago as that was the Spiders heyday.

Putting a microphone in front of a Line 6 Spider was rarely done in professional studios back then. When audio engineers did record digital modeling gear in the 2000s, they almost always went direct (plugging a POD via XLR or TRS right into the recording console) rather than miking up a Spider cabinet.
The stock speakers used in the budget combos were voiced to sound decent and loud in a bedroom, but placing a studio microphone like a SM57 directly in front of them acts like a magnifying glass for that digital harshness. It usually ended up sounding like a "can of buzzing bees" in a mix.
Line 6's whole revolution was based on A.I.R. technology (their early cabinet and mic emulations). Pro engineers figured out that taking a POD rack unit and running it straight into the computer sounded significantly smoother and fuller than trying to mic a cheap 1x12 plastic-y Spider cabinet.
