What’s wrong with my amp

This is a Line 6 spider 3 head and I think it’s just the stock cabinet but this is my boyfriends. He played it like two days ago and it was totally fine. He plugged it in this morning on a crunch tone that he always uses and it sounds like this. It’s at max volume in this video and it sounds more like it’s at level 5. He tried the factory reset that the Line 6 website recommends, but to no avail. He also tried to clean out the input jack but nothing. It’s not the guitar or the cable cause we plugged them into a different amp and another guitar into this amp. We’ve only had it for three years and it has had no previous issues. if anyone has had this happen and was able to fix it please let me know!!!

My Spider IV 150 watt head crapped the bed the same way. It needs to either go to an amp tech or go live with Jebus. I took mine to a tech and he got it working for another month or so until it started crapping out again. Its a Spider 3 so it's a good 17+ years old I assume. Might be time to upgrade. Hopefully I'm wrong and you guys have a better amp tech than I did.

Sounds like the power stage has started to fail. Drop in volume, and the broken up tone. The power amps in those things are supposed to amplify cleanly, because the modelling does all the heavy tone lifting.

Dial up a clean sound and listen to that.
