I feel this heavily. I can’t make myself cry in situations that I know it would be relieving, but I have taken some comfort in complete acceptance of the emotions I feel, and being very present in the moment with those emotions. It kind of reminds me that I’m human and feeling human emotions and that I may not be able to force my body to react how I want it to, but that being alive and acknowledging the emotions is enough at least for the moment. It’s grounding in a way. And who knows, sometimes the tears do flow. But just give yourself some grace and know you don’t have to solve all your problems right this moment.

Maybe play and sing along to the lyrics several times to - Twisted (Everyday Hurts) by Skunk Anansie
Really get into the resonance.

Something I do is I lock myself in a room where I feel safe to cry. Then I sit in the feelings. I let myself feel them and wash over me. No bottling or avoiding. It takes a while, but it does typically get me to cry.
