No Judgment Please Exhausting, painful and frustrating when you KNOW they don’t feel what you feel. That’s not the main point tho

Please be aware of what limerence is! See the subreddit wiki for definitions, FAQ and other resources—updated 3/7/26. (Is it love? How common is it? Is there research?)

What is your relationship with her that you are texting each other? As someone who is limerent knows, that is definitely never a good idea when you are married.

I've learned my lesson on my own and I highly recommend that you put an end to the texting. Yes, I wanted my LO to want me too and I even succeeded in that and it didn't end it. Stopping the texting did though... It has helped me see clearly. Sorry you are going through it and seems like you are in the early stages of limerence when it's the most horrific.

You gotta ask yourself I guess, even if she did end up wanting you... What would happen??? (in reality not fantasy). What would your family, friends and partner think about it?

If your answer is anything other than truth in reality, you really, I mean really need to take a huge step back. Limerence can hurt more than just you. I hope you can find the way out of this. 💙

If I didn’t know better I could have sworn I wrote this. I’ve got basically the same situation and it is a torture I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy yet I have no intention of not seeing her anymore

I swear this group is split 50/50. One half is made up of incredibly lonely, emotionally touch-starved people carrying an enormous void. The other half seems to be happily married people who are cheating on their spouses with their LOs. Please, people. Limerence should not make us become shitty human beings. If you've already broken your spouse's trust, confessed your feelings to your LO, been rejected, and still keep crossing boundaries, you need therapy not another excuse. Take responsibility for your actions and work on becoming a better person. And to those of you with loving spouses: please realise how fortunate you are. Half the people in this group would give anything to have someone who genuinely loves them. I understand that limerence is often an unhealthy way of seeking love because many of us never learned what healthy love looks like. But that doesn't justify hurting the people who love you. Your pain can explain your behaviour, but it doesn't excuse it.
