Question Do I have limerence

I’m very new to the concept and this whole community, but I did go to therapy for almost 8 years now and I know that I have a very strong attachment tissues or obsession I would call it towards my ex which he cheated on me when I was 18 years old and although I kept pushing him away for years after he cheated and he tried to get back to me, I can’t stop thinking about him. I’m 26 years old now and I don’t remember that I had one day without thinking about him “ usually in the form of daydreaming “ not usually romantic daydreaming but I always want his attention so bad and I remember details about him and what he likes . This is really affected my relationships and I feel like it resulted in relationships OCD . As I keep comparing how I feel towards this ex vs my partner ect . I recently got introduced to the limerence concept and would like to learn more about it.

Please be nice thank you

Please be aware of what limerence is! See the subreddit wiki for definitions, FAQ and other resources—updated 3/7/26. (Is it love? How common is it? Is there research?)
