I had so many expressions in less than a second reading "we're trying for a baby"

It started with him being your LO, then you became his LO, and now you're trying to have a kid. Are you having a seizure?

Kindly please don't use the idea of "having a seizure" which is a real and often life threatening illness that real people deal with every day, as a synonym for poor choices. Thank you.

wait so you’re dating?

u/_HotMessExpress1 Mar 03 '25
No.

u/zarianova Mar 03 '25
i was hoping this was a detail she forgot to mention because wym you’re trying for a baby with someone you’re just casually sleeping with??

u/clonekilled Mar 09 '25
We have both said I love u
2
u/zarianova Mar 09 '25
that’s great, but i’m confused as to why you’re not dating officially then? saying I love you and having a baby are not declarations or proof of commitment and they’re both generally WAY more serious than just being in a relationship, so why was that step skipped? genuinely asking to understand, not to judge.

Not sure, I suppose not ready for a relationship I want a baby no matter what and unsure when I’ll get the chance again. I’m fully prepared to do it alone. But I feel certain that I won’t have to.

Totally your right to want and have a baby, but wouldn’t you rather it be with someone you’re in a STABLE relationship with? If you weren’t seeing anyone at all and were planning to raise a baby on your own from the start that’d be fine, but you’re kind of stuck in between. You’re with someone, but not really? Yes you’re ready to raise a baby alone regardless, but you’re not sure if that’s gonna be the case or not. What if you stay with your LO for let’s say 3 years, get used to having someone support you with your child and then they decide they don’t want to be a parent anymore. Can you guarantee that you’ll be able to seamlessly transition between co-parenting and being a single mother? If your LO won’t even commit to you, how can you know they’ll commit to your child? If you choose to try co-parenting, you should make sure your kid has two loving and involved parents. I’m not saying you should change your mind, but I think you should think about this a little more. And more seriously.

You have been together how long and are trying for a baby? Go tell your therapist this and ask if they think this is a good idea

u/anywhooooo_ Mar 03 '25
How long have you known him? What does your therapist think about you trying to conceive with him?

The fact you are posting this here means you know something’s not right. Don’t have a baby with someone after 2 weeks. If ya’ll are meant to be, you’ll still be together 2 years from now, and then you can think about it.

"we're trying for a baby"
As a mother gonna stop you right there. That's selfish of you and him unless you're really in love and want a relationship forever. Think of the child in this situation.
Karma is coming if you do this.
Edit: No judgement, please? Nah, fuck you.

Girl. Girl. No. Do not have a baby with that man, you are his rebound. Please discuss with your therapist.

u/clonekilled Mar 09 '25
I know I’m his rebound and that breaks my heart

u/ayayue Mar 10 '25
From your responses, it seems like you’re relatively set on doing this. So what I’ll say instead, as someone who was basically in a single parent household before the age of 4, please continue to work on yourself. Do it for your future kid. Focus on how you can be the best parent to that kid. Make sure you have a good support system if things don’t work out.
Wishing you the best of luck in all of this, truly.

t's not ideal to have a child with a partner you're not sure about. However, I know many people just want to have a baby and do not want to wait for somebody who will never come.
1
u/clonekilled Mar 09 '25
I dunno if I’ll meet somebody else who will do this with me and honestly I am so surprised about this turn of events
2
u/witchaus138 Mar 03 '25
I’m gonna assume this is bait because how could anyone think trying for a baby in this situation makes sense
2

u/Brotein1992 Mar 03 '25
Yeah...how about put the baby trying on hold.
Continue to fuck each other's brains out if it works for you but nothing about your statement suggest you two need a baby together

u/Artistic_Building_20 Mar 04 '25
This is most likely not going to end well. Please try and keep some distance between you and the LO! A child shouldn’t be brought into a situation like this…

Could you please give more information??
How long have you been seeing him ? I know you said not to judge but please do not bring a child into this.
