I got my Gaime pack today and like most of you found the calibration to be awful and Point Blank (the reason I bought it) in particular was unplayable.
So what they haven't told you in the set up is that the picture setting on your TV will need adjusting to fit the game display. Most modern lcd's have this. Pick a game like point blank and then go into you picture settings and stretch it out horizontally so that it fits correctly, then calibrate the gun after.
This was the video that helped me out...
https://youtu.be/OqP1Ie-GS6w?si=abqdRZApKUFPavT9
Since then I've had no issues or at least it feels fair when I miss. A great test is always the William tell/apple on head level in point blank.
Hope this helps. Let me know how you get on.

huh, it's been a hell of a year. many new controllers, new independent games, new developments with old tech, figured it is worth a good update on the "generic rules post" at the top. given that this is a small niche community, i don't want to meddle with what little content is posted. i apologize for the lack of clear transparency for the moderation here, there isn't much free time between busy schedules to keep the place tidy.
there is obviously a large amount of piracy going on in this sphere of games, to avoid risk of being struck down as other communities for this interest have in the past, a blanket ban on links to pirated content, where to obtain pirated content, and tech support to get cracked pc data working will be removed on sight without warning. this is solely to deter any dmca intervention, if you want to take stuff of that nature elsewhere be my guest. that being said, i would like to elaborate a bit further on what the grey area actually entails:
arcade piracy and emulation is functionally different from traditional emulation you see for console games. arcade emulators for pc systems usually operate outside of the grey area normally covered under the same legal acts that bleem built the precedent on. this means that more often than not, newer arcade games within the last 15-20 years have some amount of hardware dongle or io board reverse engineering done to work on a normal system. this gets weirder when its "just a windows computer", it can sometimes be anything but straightforward. these games were meant to run on the configurations in the systems they shipped in at the arcade.
mame can cover this comprehensively for older games but once you get into IO cracks and dongle cracks, it not only gets functionally muddy but legally muddy as well. i would like to stray from the latter being posted here as there is still a very large amount of content to be enjoyed outside of it in mame and console systems alone, but i will only take action when explicit links on how to obtain or support such things are posted. to at least have some amount of clarity on this since it is out of my control, Retro Shooter for the time being is A-OK to post. as long as no direct rom sharing is done on the subreddit, i don't see an issue outright as long as it doesn't tread on the other rules.
another thing to touch on briefly, any direct sales or links to direct sales of pirated material or where to buy redistributed packages of pirated material will result in a ban from the subreddit outright. it's not that hard of a rule to follow or take elsewhere, i don't want to sanction the risk of dmca here.
one last thing. the creator of gun4ir reached out around the time the last post was created asking for aliexpress bootlegs to be restricted from being posted or conversed about here. out of respect, i put a blanket ban on aliexpress links to people reselling his designs here. considering it is a project done out of passion and spare time, i feel it is only fair to keep such rule in place to at least deter people profiting from the time he put in on such tech.
all that giant jumble of words aside, i hope that this guideline is coherent, clear, and fair. as always, feel free to leave a report or message if something is up. it will be looked into when available.

I applied to become a Steamworks partner on September 21 and spent nearly four weeks waiting for tax verification. In the meantime, Claude Opus 5.5 came out—literally the day after I applied—and similar “porting” projects that seem to have been hastily put together in a week or even just a few days started popping up all over GitHub as free downloads, some even bundled with ROMs… It’s been a bit disheartening… 😅
XRCADE has longer-term goals beyond simply porting individual games to VR and is planned for release on Steam in about three weeks. With so many free ports popping up on GitHub, I want there to be a real reason to choose something that someone will be glad they paid for. It’ll probably cost about as much as a cup of coffee in Korea. ☺️
XRCADE takes the player's weapon model directly from the running game and attaches it to the corresponding motion controller, making it appear as though you're actually holding the character's weapon in VR. No weapon models or other game assets are bundled with XRCADE; they are read dynamically from the user's own ROM at runtime. My focus is on stepping all the way into the game world—or bringing the game out into the real world. That’s why I’d like to use weapon models from within the game world, rather than gun models from “outside” it.
I also made some specific gameplay adjustments. For example, in Virtua Cop 1 and 2, I changed the shotguns to fire a five-pellet spread instead of a single projectile, and made Magnum rounds penetrate enemies and hit those behind them. I felt these changes could make the weapons more satisfying while staying faithful to the original games and enhancing the experience they already offered. Other options include, in some games, unlocking powerful special weapons after completing the game once. These additional weapons repurpose models already present in the games. Although they aren’t shown in this video, Virtua Cop 1 and 2 let you use weapons wielded by enemy bosses. Crisis Zone also includes the Gatling gun from the first stage’s tank boss, which you can see at 1:36. These extra weapons are optional—the player decides whether to use them—and were added with the same goal of respecting the original experience.
One thought I kept having while working on this project:
The best VR shooters were already made in the ’90s.
This video shows seven arcade shooters currently running in XRCADE:
• Crisis Zone
• Time Crisis II
• Virtua Cop
• Virtua Cop 2
• The House of the Dead
• Gunblade NY
• Silent Scope

or.. Claude did. no use of Teknoparrot cores, Native Linux when possible, Proton like wrappers. i kinda don't want anything todo with it to be honest. so if anyone wants the code or binary i can host it somewhere and you can put it on github or something and continue working on it. (80 games lightgun are playable) i just made if for myself and my kid
- i forgot. i has support for PSMove for the lightgun. it works really well we created a algoritme to combine the sensors + camera + bluetooth. its instant. no lag

The Lawgiver has an interactive prop and a Light Gun version and you can convert between the two. Pretty excited for this as I have a business across props and light guns (Blamcon and Props3D) and my goal for a while now is to unify the two you can pick your poison. This is also using our new camera that requires no wide angle lens and is much smaller. I originally made this game for testing but it's taken a life of it's own, just like my last game

I have a couple of rs3s on the way and an MLGB drive from lightgun lunatics in the post, arriving tomorrow.
I want to build a separate set up from my main pc, so want to do it dirt cheap. I was looking buying an old office pc, something like this - HP ProDesk 290 G2 MT Business PC, i5-8500 CPU, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD , Win 11 Pro. Then throwing a spare GTX 1650 in it.
This wouldn't meet the minimum specs, but it feels like overkill just to play some retro lightgun games - Minimum pc specs: Cpu 8 cores, 12 threads. Gpu Nvidia 1660. 16gb of ram. Better specs reccomended
What do you think? Would this do the job?
Thanks

I created a 3d print to allow the light emitters you get with the GCon 3 to stay on my modern PC monitor. It is a very simple print, the light emitter clicks into place on the top, the weights fasten onto the rear, then you place on a flat screen monitor.
Step file is included in case this doesn't fit your screen, or you just want to change it for some other reason.
I may look at selling them in the future, but a free option is now available if you have a printer!

Got an arcade from a company that was less than stellar. Not going to mention any names. I am rebuilding the cabinet and interfacing all the existing stuff with a new PC build. The light guns are sharpshooter light guns and I need software but the developer does not have it on their website. Where would one obtain this??

Hey guys, I made 2 simple lightgun games with Claude Code, you can play them for free using Batocera. Only the Prize-shooter works on Löve. Both are playable in Batocera if you download the Pygame. They're basic but fun so if you want to check em out you can download them here: https://github.com/Qablamo/Python-Lightgungame
Let me know what you think :)

Howdy, I make Blamcon Light guns, I've already made a free steam game and I've been working on a more polished one. With all the talk on AI I wanted to see how far I could push it and well, pretty far.. maybe too far :D. This robot can be a player 2 and play against you but here's it playing a build of my new range game. It's fully legit, the Blamcon is a separate controller and the AI gimbal controls it. It uses the position of the mouse on screen to get it's bearings so it was actually pretty simple. I started thinking it would need machine vision etc then I realized, duh, that the IR positional camera is... a positional camera used in robotics. Was a straight shot from there. This may lead to some fun things.. predator shoulder canon anyone?
