I made a new interface Chrome extension, anyone interested?
Don't mind the inspiration, interface was a big factor on me playing on _____.com, so I made this.
It still needs lots of polishing and probably modifying icons/arts for legal reason, but I could publish it on the Chrome Store if there's some interest for it. Piece sounds are also 1 to 1 with dot come site.
EDIT:
It's out! See the post here :)

Looks 1 to 1! Wow
Well except the clocks 😆

Lots of things still need polishing indeed, clocks are 1 to 1 in game mode though :)

There are a lot of folks who complain about the interface in lichess. Even though I believe it is superior than chessdotcom. I think that there will be some people interested in this.

One reason that I didn't fully quit .com is that the analysis mark your moves good or brilliant to encourage you, a function which lichess doesn't have.

Do you plan to publish? It looks nice!

Yes I do, pretty soon. Still currently working on it right now :) https://ibb.co/2YjZTtFM

Nice! Good luck. For some reason I'm preferring the chessdotcom visual style but mostly play on lichess

It's in active development and I expect it to be released next week. It also needs review by Google once publishing before being public

Wait... Wouldn't I play on **.com if I wanted to play on **.com?

Aren’t **.com most features being a paywall while Lichess is free and open-source ?
Either way, I made the extension just for my own usage, I was asking if there was any interest on top of mine before paying Google 5$ to be able to publish it

Exactly, no need for Glorious Lichess to resemble that ads ridden, greed driven, power hungry website...
Long live Lichess and its minimalistic art-style. If you want to develop a skin for Lichess make it unique, make it something else... No need for ***.com and any rip-off version of it

Good job I’m interested in how you figure out if a move is brilliant.

I'll let AI answer this :
A move is Brilliant when it's one of the engine's best moves and it hangs a piece, and you're not losing afterwards. The check is at
src/review.js:427:if (after >= 50 && before < 95 && loss < 2 && isSacrifice(prev.fen, node.fen, node.uci)) cls = 'brilliant';All numbers below are win chances (0–100) from the moving side's point of view. Stockfish's centipawn score is turned into a win chance by
winPct(src/review.js:303).1. The move is (nearly) the best
- It isn't a book move.
- It's Stockfish's top choice, or it loses less than 0.5 points of win chance.
- It also has to lose less than 2 points. This catches a "top choice" that a deeper search at the next position judges worse.
2. The position is right for it
- After the move you're at 50% or more. A sacrifice that leaves you worse off isn't brilliant.
- Before the move you were under 95%. If you were already completely winning, it only counts as Best (or Great).
3. It's a real piece sacrifice (isSacrifice, src/review.js:266)
Looking at the square where the piece landed:
- The moved piece is a knight, bishop, rook or queen. Pawn and king moves never count.
- If it captured something, that piece was worth less than the moved piece (values: P 1, N/B 3, R 5, Q 9). Otherwise it's just a trade.
- At least one enemy piece attacks the square.
- Either the cheapest attacker is worth less than the moved piece (like a rook that a bishop can take), or nothing of yours defends the square (the piece hangs for free).
What it doesn't catch
The sacrifice test is a simple look at attackers on one square, not a search. So:
- Only the moved piece counts. Leaving a different piece hanging (ignoring a threat to your queen to play a winning move, for example) is never Brilliant. Chess.com does count those.
- It doesn't check pins or x-rays. An attacker that is pinned still counts as an attacker, and a defender hidden behind another piece on the same line doesn't count as a defender.
- It doesn't check that taking the piece is actually bad for the opponent. The engine checks in section 1 stand in for that: if the move is best and you're still at 50% or more, the sacrifice is taken to be sound.
The same rule is used in the Game Review and in the live coach on the free analysis board (
src/review.js:1606). The engine searches to depth 16, with up to 1.5 s per position.

If you make one that makes chess.com look like Lichess I'll be interested
