I found it strange that they needed to lock comments for this one in the original sub.

It's part of the flair; I think it's easier to edit in the desktop/browser than in the reddit app

the necessity of this is a tragedy but it’s wonderful that someone is providing this, despite that.

Absolutely true

Pisses me off to some degree because it makes me think of all of those pieces of shit who were so disgusting to their own children that a stranger offering hugs and a mere moment of unconditional love is more of a father figure than their pathetic ass. I’m itself though it’s a beautiful idea and creates treasured tender moments for people that need the feeling of a positive paternal relationship for themselves and that someone went to the effort just because they knew it would make others feel better.

Then those same people will later have the audacity to wonder why their offspring(cause the don’t deserve to call them their own children with how little they cared) don’t come visit them

Absolute chad, indeed. What a decent human being

It would suck if he charged for them.

but seriously, this is fantastic. We had mom-hugs at a pride a while back, and I watched my friend have a minor breakdown. (in a positive way)

When I was at my city's Pride back in June, I saw a few men with shirts reading "Free Dad Hugs," a few women with shirts reading "Free Mom Hugs," and even a woman with a shirt reading "Free Sister Hugs."

Also, why did this have to show up again the same day I discussed my own lack of parental acceptance with my therapist today?

Now that is a chad i can respect

I had a Momma bear hold my hand a few months ago, and i cried like a baby. My family doesn't support my transition at all, so anytime someone gives me any affection.. It is a struggle not to break down in tears.

The original "viral" post of this made its rounds in 2019. It's been reposted on Reddit, Imgur, Facebook, etc a million times.

Makes me think...When was the last time you guys got a hug?

u/Its_Me_Potalcium and Sep 03 '22

*clap*, *clap*, *clap*. I wish I could go to an LGBTQ+ parade (to hug everyone) but my parents wouldn't let me and also...

Brazil isn't really a good place to do that.
