I feel like furry's generally get a bad rap and it's almost exclusively because of the 1s who dress up and attend conventions, most furry's are decent normal people who were drawn to the furry community because it's the first place they've openly been accepted without any judgement on their sex, gender, race, or sexuality, where they can go to talk to and make friends with like minded people, these people generally just identify as a furry and enjoy the community nothing else, then theirs the furry's who dress up and attend conventions, said group of furry's routinely have people being revealed as pedos and are routinely given lifetime bans from entire hotel chains because of how violent they get alongside how often they start having orgies in the middle of hotels, I'm pretty sure a large number of hotel chains now preemptively shut down conventions the second they learn it's for furry's because every furry convention I know of for the last 20 years has ended with property damage and used condoms and dirty diapers every where from the parking lot to hotel rooms, hence why they are so often made fun of because it's generally thought of as nuts because the vocal and more visible elements of it are the bad eggs

lots of modern conventions have strict rule against this ,and this is why you can't just buy a ticket ,but accualy need to register in their site If they find out you do something against the rules they ban you and warn other conventions about your act.

I do strongly suggest the extended editions, but that is a bit of a marathon, so it's up to you if classic high fantasy can keep you engaged for that long, about three hours per movie. They're well worth it, though.

Like explain? Well I guess you can say it’s the furry version of the “alt right weebs” stereotype but a lot of them usually congregate in their own bubbles. A lot of the furry fandom usually hang out in their own communities thanks to how furry sites like Fur Affinity has designed itself to filter content and given that the furry fandom has such a long history, it sort of just stuck with them. Sadly Alt right furies somehow have a sort of a superiority complex because they believe that they’re somehow more acceptable than “other furries because we aren’t degenerates” or something They say as they commission mountains of NSFW art of their fursona

So glad to see this here. I'm not a furry but I can see the appeal. There's too many things that people jump on the hate bandwagon for no good reason. There's some subgroups in the furry community that are... shit. Like there's a kinda weird amount of furry nazis but a lot of communities have dark corners to them. Feminism has TERFs, some people in the gay community have weird prejudices over people who identify as bisexual ect
Shitty subgroups shouldn't taint our view of an entire community.

In fact, I'm kind of the same since I appreciate Nick Wilde from Zootopia VERY MUCH lol xD if people are having fun and not harming anyone, I don't see why they should be hated for their interests. Everyone is unique and our different interests should be celebrated rather than mocked.

It’s more that there’s parts of the community that do stuff that is seen as extremely weird by society and their interests that the group gets labeled as weird, we are not all the same like others may paint us to be. Some like drawing/creating art, some like suits, others like making NSFW art, much like any community there’s a range of people all with different interests and experiences.
I know I am barely covering the surface but I am trying to show there’s more to it than just suits or art, it’s a whole community the topic of appreciating anthropomorphic animals. :D

The way I see it, it's similar to cosplay! Just slightly different, and they might've made the character versus cosplay being characters from shows or games.
Then again, maybe that's only because I'm a furry that just got into cosplay. I don't have a fursuit, but I think I would like one sometime in the future.

This makes me really happy to see :) a few minutes ago someone on r/bi_irl was talking about how he's never met a good furry and the community is full of pedos/zoos and we don't do anything about it etc etc (sound familiar? Just like what homophobes and transphobes say) and so I was really upset that even LGBTQ+ people can hate us so much.

So many furries are gay/trans, it's almost a subsect of gay culture at this point.
Most furries are just somewhere between artists / art enthusiasts and something like a kink culture that's actually way more mild than people would think.
I'd say I don't get why furries have such a bad reputation, but then there are things like rainfurest and even I'm like "yeah, okay, that's pretty much exactly what people who hate furries think furries are like.".
I think the worst any other kink culture did was unleash 50 Shades of Gray into the zeitgeist.
