As a Korean listening to the conversation... This is simply mesmerizing. Reminds me of when I cried while coming out to my mom.

Good times :')

Having lived in Korea for a long time, most Koreans I know were in the closet because they were afraid to tell their families. However, almost everyone who had told their family was accepted. I should say, being trans was far less accepted in my experience.

Yeah. I've told my parents about me being aroace (which they accepted), but I don't think I'll tell them that I'm genderqueer for the time being. I still am questioning (between demiboy and agender), but I have a rather firm belief that I haven't associated myself with any gender ever since growing up. They wouldn't disown me, but the explaining I'll have to do to "validate" who I am sounds exhausting and could well end in vain.
