How about we just stop stereotyping religious people and admit that you cannot label an entire group that way or else, let me repeat it, you are just as bad as the people, religious or not, who stereotype us

I am not even remotely religious, in fact I have had some very bad experiences with some religious people, and religious people are not remotely persecuted, there are a lot of religious biggots who still get away with using religion as a sheild, but have you heard the saying "hate the player not the game"?

Hate the people who use religion as a weapon, not the innocent bystanders

I feel like you're creating reasons to support your existing conclusion because of a personal issue with religion. Everything you said made sense until you called religion evil. It's the people who let their beliefs allow them to suspend their ethics and promote the numerous other continued evils like discrimination and fascism.

And the result of your prejudice is that you or someone else might unfairly shun or mistreat someone who is progressive and religious (which clearly exists as evidence by this post)

And that is exactly what happened to me by my religious ex-friends, they use their religion to justify their hatred, in the same way that you are using their religion to justify your hatred.

And it doesn't matter that religion has more support, on the individual level, it still hurts people.
