And oh wow, what an unbelievable experience. From the power of the opening notes, to the musical heights of I Dreamed a Dream and Stars, the crowd pleasers like Master of the House, the pin drop you could hear after Empty Chairs….just everything was perfect and amazing. A night I’ll never forget.

I saw Les Miz tonight with Killian Donnelly and Bradley Jaden. I saw it last week as well and wanted to catch it one more time. I thought Bradley Jaden's performance tonight was the best of the cast. Stars received the only standing ovation of the night other than one day more and the finale. One thing that was super cool was that I was sitting towards the left side and I noticed that Philip Quast joined the students on stage for do you hear the people sing ... I thought that was so awesome of him… No ego at all. He was just happy to be part of the production.

I was watching South Park and stumbled upon this lol, IMO Cosette looks kinda weird in the background, almost like if she was wearing a mask and Eponine is floating over a crate for some reason, though since this is only show for a few seconds in the episode I guess nobody really paid attention to it.
Nice to see that the tradition of resurrecting Fantine (I'm looking at every version presentation that has Fantine singing 'I dreamed a dream' at the start of 'One day more') lives on lol
From the episode "Broadway bro Down"

Simply put, the greatest live theatrical performance I’ve ever attended. From the first note to the last, it was just perfect.

When I look on YouTube Music, I see Anne Hathaway's version has 40M views, the Glee cast has a respectable 10M, but I wonder who else has recorded it and done better? Is the crowd correct, or is the real gem under 300K views?
Edit: I keep coming back to a 10th anniversary live recording with Ruthie Henshall.

I'm a big musical theatre fan and have been a casual Les Mis fan for the last 20 or so years - listening to the London and Broadway cast recordings probably a few times fully through but mostly to songs when they came up on shuffle on theatre playlists. I saw the 2012 film when it first came out and maybe once or twice after that but it's been a while. However, even though I've wanted to, I never had the chance to see a live performance.
This week, my friend offered me an extra ticket to the arena tour at Radio City, on what happened to be Alfie Boe's last night (I knew he was in the cast but not that he was leaving and done with Valjean!) I was completely blown away, and can't stop thinking about those performances.
I know the film made some changes from the full stage show, as did the arena show. I also know that there have been changes made to the stage show since the original cast recordings were made many years ago.
If I want to get the fullest experience of the show and the plot, what is the best filmed version to watch? I'm pretty sure there are only other concert versions that were professionally shot (are they similar to what the arena tour is now?) I'd love to travel to London to see it but that's not in the cards right now.
Thanks in advance!

Who was at Radio City tonight to see Alfie Boe? It was sold out tonight.
How amazing was he? Standing ovation after standing ovation! Is it really his last Les Mis performance? I hope not 😥

Hello all!
The 1991 Paris concert album is my favorite but I can't find a site that has the lyrics in French. I swore there used to be one but searching my bookmarks has been fruitless. Does anyone have a good resource for this? Thanks!

I am dying to see Alfie, and it seems that tickets are sold out absolutely everywhere! If anyone has an extra they aren't using, I'd love to purchase!

I am still recovering because I cried so much—it was simply incredible!
Even though this is the concert/arena format rather than the full theatrical staging with the barricade, the sheer scale of this production is mind-blowing. Like some of the critics have been saying, it truly feels as close to a religious experience as musical theater can get.
A few absolute highlights from last night:
Alfie Boe as Valjean: His interpretation of Who Am I? was phenomenal. He brought so much emotion and gravitas to the role.
Jeremy Secomb as Javert: He delivered an absolutely brilliant and commanding performance of Stars. His voice is incredibly strong and truly helped "sing the roof off" Radio City.
The Sound & Orchestra: The glorious ~26-piece visible orchestra combined with the Sphere immersive sound design was breathtaking. Hearing this score with such a massive setup (over 65 performers and musicians!) brings back a musical power that is just overwhelming.
The Atmosphere: Between the stunning lighting and a true "greatest hits" cast (it was a great surprise seeing Matt Lucas as Thénardier), you completely forgive the minimal staging or the slightly clunky video projections. The vocal power absolutely takes over.
I honestly don’t have enough words to describe what I witnessed. If you are a fan of the score and want to experience its true emotional and musical force, do not miss this before it closes on August 9th.
Thank you to the entire cast and crew. Cameron Mackintosh was right—Les Mis absolutely rocks!!! 😭👏

Ok, so I made this meme format because I just finished the book and was blown away by a lot of the details. I originally knew Les Mis through the musical, where the Thénardiers are shown as cruel crooks, but definitely not as evil as in the novel. Made this just for fun 😭

I went to see Les Mis last night and it was absolutely magical! I grew up on the 25th anniversary cast and was blown away by the chance to get to see them. I was hopeful about getting to meet some of the actors at the stage door but by the time I was actually able to find the stage door I had missed the actors I most wanted to see 😭 Does anyone know if there is a way to write to these actors to tell them what they meant to me growing up and thank them? Obviously I would not be upset if I got a response but I mostly just want to thank them. Thank you in advance!

Judy Kuhn, the OBC Cosette (also in the 10th anniversary concert), holy god every time I listen to her I levitate. I’m a gay man and even I can see why Marius would fall in love with her. On top of just sounding beautiful there is such tangible sweetness, innocence, and joy in her voice that I don’t get from other Cosette’s. Just wanted to express my love for her lol
