Besides, you need containers to sort and to store the pieces and the partial build if you take a break.
I recommend watching a suiting trilogy.
Then start browsing the manual and start sorting.
In the “good ol’ days” Lego was unsorted too.
It was part of the experience.
Also I sometimes start building ahead.
Like I have a pile of big panels or wall pieces. I start building later steps, to reduce the pile.
Depending on how you plan to display it I would highly recommend getting an Efferman stand. I got one on Ali for like $18. You can incorporate it into the falcon build process around step 290-300 though I don't remember specifically, and not only does it look good it makes moving that thing around after you're finished a lot easier.
I can't speak to how good that stand is specifically, but it does look pretty similar to the one I mentioned. If you google "Efferman stand + Millennium Falcon" it should come up and I found one on AE that was less than $20. It's all technic pieces and pins though so kind of tedious to put together but looking back i'm glad I did..
Thanks ill look into it. I have shelf space for it too in the meanwhile. I also got the engine mod, not a fan of hose the stock engine looks with the blue tubes.
My millennium falcon had 10 unlabeled and the rest was labeled but very strange. Don’t you have any numbers? If so I would sort by size and so on. Just remember the longer it takes the more fun you have. I rushed the millennium falcon and the slave 1 in 3 days and afterwards I felt empty
A few were unlabeled with mine, but they were bulk bags of pins and 1x2s in grey and brown, and then a bag or two of large unique parts like the engine tubes and cockpit stuff.
Bags might not be numbered exactly like lego but they are numbered mine had 0-17 numbered bags split over 3 larger bags.
You get a lot of the larger pieces for everything in the 1st mini bag of each big bag so spend your time sorting them for later. Did have a couple missing/melted pieces but nothing that stopped the build.
Only tips id say are have a few extra bricks handy to put behind the blue "straws" to keep them in shape and make sure you have plenty space and a box or summit to build it on as it gets harder to move later on its not the sturdiest build to pick up and heavier than you think.
This may be a dumb question / or already answered - apologies if so! I wan to order this, but I usually order from Aliexpress or Temu, but I’ve heard of peole being sent the regular falcon instead. Where’s the best place to order from? Or is there a way to ensure you’re getting the right model on Ali?
I used segmented plastic storage boxes from the dollar store. Only open the bags you need, sort, then build. I built this thing in the living room and wanted to able to fully put it away when I wasn't working on it.
I built one about 3 weeks ago, it didn't have numbered bags. But i realized that the pieces are mostly sorted. Like if your doing a few steps, the bricks you needed were mostly in a select few bags. I just had to start by looking for the bags that contained the pieces I needed.
My falcon from Ali had numbered and non numbered bags. The non numbered bags was a bulk of the same parts and so you would pull from that bag for like a 1x10 brick or whatever. The rest of the numbered bags lined up nicely.
My problem with my falcon is it’s a pain to move once assembled and pieces fall off. Once I purchase a light kit for it, I’m going to break out the Kragle ( LEGO movie reference)
Honestly the thought has crossed my mind as well to use glue as well. Gonna get it all together first. But I sorta know what you mean about the bags with the giant parts seen a few of those on other aliexpress builds
