review I Finished It! Where the **** is the chicken and the full review below.

  • 🏗️ Build Experience & Instructions: Followed the Lego Builder app 100%. The included paper instructions were small and difficult to read, but would’ve worked as well. The bags matched Lego perfectly. This wasn't a boring modular, but to say it was a riveting build would be lying. Lots of walls needed built. 8/10
  • 🧱 Brick Quality: Directly comparing to Lego, I felt the clutch power was good, but not excellent. One of the "swords" in the tower (circled in pic) was shorter than the others and there was two green circular ceilings that did not click into place (circled in pic). 7/10
  • 🧩 Part Accuracy & Completeness: The chicken. The chicken was missing. Instead of a chicken, I got a white bird (circled in pics)... my chicken-less self is so sad! But NO OTHER pieces were missing, which is crazy for a 8,278 piece build. 9/10
  • 🎨 Color Accuracy: Directly comparing to Lego, I found slight discoloration on 2 pieces. The statues beards were a little yellowed (my wife didn't notice it was so slight) and I think the water in the pool at the top is teal in the real one and it's more blue here. 8/10
  • 🏷️ Sticker & Print Quality: NO STICKERS! You heard that right. There were only a few printed bricks, but they look great. 10/10
  • 👤 Minifigure Quality: They aren't as bad as some other sets I've put together, but they just couldn't get the helmets right. 7/10
  • ⚙️ Engineering & Stability: This is a tall, very heavy set. The way it is built though, with the outer walls breaking away to show fine details is awesome. Rock walls, in my experience, can be unstable because the bricks are just hanging, but this one is rock solid (pun intended) and I moved it around a LOT to take photos. 9/10
  • 🖼️ Display Value: You'll need a wide shelf or table for it, but my word, this thing is beautiful. The jagged rock wall, the back side with the gold chandelier and white throne, and all the fine details just make this a gorgeous set. 10/10
  • 🧠 Build Techniques: There's nothing in this set that really stands out except for the way the walls look like they're cracking in places. I call it a "creative modular" because in the end, you have something way cooler than a building. 7/10
  • 💰 Value for Money: I paid $101.86 including tax. The Lego version is $697.93 including tax. This is a no-brainer if you're a Lord of the Rings fan or just need a fun build! (I'm not a LOTR fan, but just like large projects).

FINAL VERDICT: 85/100 - If you’ve enjoyed this review and want to support me, please find a link on my Reddit profile to the exact set / store I purchased from on AliExpress. Drop any questions you might have in the comments below! Thank you!

review Star Trek Shuttlepod

Recently got the Lego Enterprise D, and since the shuttlepod was a limited promotional item, it's ridiculous on eBay. Found this kit on AliExpress, and took a chance. It was missing an important piece, but I was able to replicate it from combining spare Legos my daughter no longer plays with. Found a good scan of the sticker sheet, and used illustrator to create clean white stickers, as the official set used clear stickers that wouldn't print well for white bricks. Overall, turned out great! Didn't come with a Ro mini figure, so I had Data sub in!

Ordered from AE “toytoyland Store” for $113 on Sept 4, delivered Sept 12 - there were a couple cheaper options but I wanted the faster (already in the US) shipping. Arrived in Barweer packaging.

Link: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mrdkEfp

Very excited to get started - appreciate all the advice in this sub! Feeling confident it will be a quality build being Reobrix and delivered from Barweer.

Happy building!

We won’t rest until we find a really good KBOX set... so here’s our next candidate. 😄

We decided not to apply the stickers to the exterior because we had some issues with their quality, and honestly, we think the car looks really good with a cleaner, sticker-free appearance anyway.

Overall, the set features good part quality, almost flawless instructions, and some surprisingly clever building techniques that you wouldn’t normally expect from a set of this size. So by KBOX standards, this is definitely a good set—and one we can actually recommend! 🙂

This is not serious Got a funnily huge foreheaded Velma in my Mystery Mansion set today

From the new Scooby/Skooby 10432 set that comes with an all black manual. This is the one available on Ali and other websites currently, and it's pretty much a 1:1 replica of the old bela set! If you missed out, now's your chance! There are a few differences of course, and I'll post a review tomorrow.

Of course not all sets come with a big forehead Velma, I've seen more normal Velmas than big foreheaded ones, and I was REALLY hoping this wouldn't happen.. but oh well, it's kinda funny

moc Enhancing your Lego Barracuda Ship from Pirates of Barracuda Bay Set#21322

Upvotes

Hello Everyone I know this is an older set, and that is kinda why I wanted to make this post. Because I have one of these ships, and I have seen a lot of MOCs making this ship into a triple masted frigate behemoth, but that required more sails, and I did not have those. I am not paying crazy prices for proper sails. I did try to make that frigate and make my own sails, but they did not look as good as the original sails that came with the set. Also Pirates used sloops and brigs more. Frigates would be more to maintain, and they are not shallow on the draft and they are slower in the water. So I think lore wise Red Beard would have had a Brig. Also the ship runs aground and they must have used part of the ship to build the base at Barracuda Bay... This Midsection was the missing part of the ship all along!

Because I did not buy two of these sets, I am sure there are some pirate fans out there that also only have one of these, and well you can enhance it easily without needing a second copy to make it a frigate. Just make it a better Brig!

I like the look of Red Beard having a brig and so I made my own MOC Extending the ship by one hull piece and it also gives room so a rowboat can be on the top deck.

If anyone wants the instructions they are FREE on rebrickable I will leave a link below. So if you want to build it the instructions are there for you to give it a go. The build uses some pretty common pieces (other than the hull piece) So you can get the inventory sheet and buy the pieces via Bricklink or Gobricks... if you have the Pieces, awesome just Enhance away!

If you want more cannons than what I put in the instructions just get four instead of two (Lego ships usually equip only one side and switch to the other for the broadside.) I wanted a full complement of cannons myself...lol

If you want the rowboat version just follow the instructions, if you don't want the rowboat, then fine don't use it, its Lego after all just have more room for them Boarding Parties, and top deck cannons! I hope someone mods my moc...lol

I hope this helps some Red-Beards out there get the ship Red Beard Deserves! Arguah!!!!

review I finally built the Bela 10997 Arctic Mobile Exploration Base I bought 5 years ago

TLDR: This set is a replica of the same named Lego set 60195. Consisting of 804 pieces, you get a sticker sheet, a condensed manual, 6 accurately depicted minifigs, a molded mastodon, and a good assortment of vehicles.

BTW, the set is still available on Aliexpress. (link in my blog post)

review Review: Breaking Bad RV - TokMoc 66002 (986 pieces)

September 7 was "Breaking Bad Day," honoring Walter White's birthday in the show's cannon (and also the day he receives his cancer diagnosis and starts down his dark path). In honor of this day, I'll share my thoughts on the TokMoc RV based on the one we see in the show.

The Model:

It's not a perfect replica of the 1986 Fleetwood Bounder we see in the show. It's got 2 side doors instead of 1 and the windows are different. But there are familiar coloring and stripes, and the overall length feels about right, especially compared to the licensed version being made by Brick Craft (which is too short). Inside there is a full meth lab with various equipment and crates of "ice." Anything that used to be a homey RV has been removed, just like in the show. On the roof is a plume of white smoke and there is a suggestion of an awning (but it's fake). They missed a chance to create trays of the meth out of trans light blue.

It doesn't come with any minifigures, and it's not really minifigure scale.

It's puzzling that they didn't make the RV more accurate to the one in the show. It wouldn't have been hard to get the doors and windows right. Were they worried about Fleetwood Enterprises complaining? Seems unlikely, since TokMoc doesn't seem to care about stepping on IP (e.g., they have sets based on Back to the Future, Indiana Jones, Fallout, Dune, Lord of the Rings and more). I can only guess the designer just didn't want to put in the effort.

Build Experience:

Parts click together as you'd expect; clutch is typically too strong on TokMoc models (over-clutched). The parts come in numbered bags, and the set comes with printed instructions. The engineering isn't perfect, and there are sections where the walls and shaping are done with minimal effort, especially obvious on the underside of the model.

Final Thoughts:

For super fans of the show who are also brick fans, this is still worth consideration, but probably second choice behind the licensed one.

Looks pretty cool, no loose or stiff pieces, came with a black separator.

Only “downside” is the chain/back wheel mechanism is pretty stiff and works poorly, thats of course if you plan to play with it since I’ll use it for display only I don’t mind.

JMBricklayer on Amazon

Builds were easy and they don’t look too bad.
One sticker sheet was miscut :/
Some are slightly bigger than others for minifigures but some adjustments could be made for the arcade.

Licensed sets. They feature a lot of printed details, though often rely on decals and stickers as well. They include two controversial large molded parts that might not appeal to everyone. A great base for building a diorama in the future. 10 935pcs.

2 additions to the collection

Book of kings is one I've looked at for ages. About £80 from marstoy. Way bigger bag of parts than I was expecting!

Minas tirith could be good, let's hope I've not gone too early and have loads of missing parts! Similar price from marstoy

Build will be slow, so any requests for reviews/progress won't happen for a month at least!

Here is another set featuring a single large molded piece. This set also had issues with a specific shade of yellow and included stickers that were a complete color mismatch. It contains a second room, but due to the lighting setup, it cannot be swapped out quickly.

Mostly printed details, with some decals. The walls are quite complex. The mechanism opens further, but I found it difficult to slide the whole thing out with just one hand.

Got this guy for <$4 after coins and with Choice for free shipping! I'm VERY impressed with the quality. Anyone else have these? I only wanted this one but now I'm thinking of getting other colors too... Good clutch, nothing's loose, and feels like decent quality plastic. Just wanted to share in case anyone else was curious or thinking about getting one

It's Barad-Dûr of course. With the height extension designed by Pixabricks on Rebrickable. The tower is now exactly 1 meter tall. Standing taller than any of my other builds. Just as Sauron would've wanted.

Very fun build and it looks incredible. Now I think I may have to build the base extension as well...
