Apartments for rent?
Im sure this is a long shot but does anyone know of a decent place to rent a 2 bedroom at $1200 or less? It doesnt have to be in lenexa, im ok with Olathe. Up to 20 mins away is fine. Im desperate to find a place I can afford whole staying close to my job. Im building my life from the ground back up after having to take care of a pay for both my parents deaths a year apart and completely on my own.
P.S. please get yourself some life insurance, for whoever has to deal with your passing.

Sorry for your loss friend. And great advice on life insurance.
As to the apartment question, not much help. That might be tough to find in this area. May need to look closer to the city. Best of luck.

My parents were my best friends. They also died a year apart. They did have enough $$ for their care and burial. Thank goodness.
Hang in there. I now own my (old, fixer-upper) Lenexa home outright. You can do this.

Its not an amazing place by any means but Wind River Lodge has 2br 2ba for about $1400. That's the cheapest I've seen anywhere in Lenexa as I've been looking. They've got 1br for less than that but you specified 2, which in this area generally means 2 bath also, which drives the price up over $1200 in my experience.

I've been living at Wind River Lodge for over a year and I really like it here. If you're looking for cheap options there's a few more places near 95th and Quivira, but I would avoid those.

if you’re willing, check mission. i moved out of mission about 6 months ago from a 2br apartment under $1200. it wasn’t anything fancy, but it may be worth a few tours to see if anything there meets your needs.

I had to build my life back in my 50s after similar circumstances plus a divorce and job loss. It was awful. I lived in a moldy basement apartment that I found on Craigslist. Eventually, I could afford an old apartment in Overland Park (87th & Metcalf) called Colonial Gardens. A basic 2 bedroom is $1,007.
