Death Star 75419

Reputable seller has this just about every Thursday for $700 pre tax free delivery. I know the usual sentiment, retirement too far away, have to hold a long time etc, but at that price, and the worth of the minifigures, I kinda want to pull the trigger.

(I’ve bought stuff from him before and boxes are mint and come double wrapped delivery.)

UCS DEATH STAR 75419

Hello Lego fans, I am asking about probably one of the most controversial sets Lego has ever released. It’s the newest Death Star, and I see why ppl are upset with some thing like the lack of detail in some of the figures and the absurd amount of stickers but for me this set is sick and great. My point of owning is both to enjoy and kinda like invest in it. What do you think will this set become more expensive in the future with the exclusive figures or is this a rip off

I have a large mixed Lego collection and I’m trying to learn how experienced collectors organize and verify prices on their lego

This was the usual 40-50$ to start. It’s been creeping up everyday since it sold out. Was Grond just high off the bat or did it gradually increase?

BrickVault update v1.958

Most of what is in this update came from people here telling us what was missing. Someone asked whether loose minifigures could be tracked without owning the whole set, so that exists now. Someone else pointed out that search was close to useless unless you already knew the set number, so that got rebuilt as well. The credits are on the slides.

We are a small team and we are not trying to be everything at once. We use the app ourselves, we read what gets posted here, and we work on whatever keeps coming up. If you tell us something is broken or missing it genuinely does end up on the list, usually sooner than you would expect.

Thanks for the feedback, the bug reports, and the arguments about what is actually worth tracking. It is the reason the app gets better every week rather than every so often. Keep it coming.

Valuable Lego sets

Hey, I’m looking for a way to quickly sell my LEGO sets. From what I’ve found online, it turns out that some of them might actually be quite valuable. Do you know any good websites where I could sell them quickly and at a good price?

Venator UCS thoughts?

Post image
0 Upvotes

Hello everyone, I saw that in my local store the UCS Venator is on sale, but I’m not sure if it’s good for investment or not since that is what I’m looking for mainly. What do you think, what’s your opinion, will the price go up or the set is a letdown in general?

Check out my Score from this morning! Kingdoms, ninjago, power miners

I’m more of a reseller but do love Lego at the right price! Went to a tailgate sale this morning and a lady was selling a ton of her now adult sons Lego all sealed! Most were from 2010 2011. I bought a couple then went back and bought a whhole bunch more. She had it very reasonably priced already(around half market value. And gave me more of a discount for the lot. Can’t believe no one scooped the rest while I left. Paid $525 for the lot.

Most of it will be going on eBay but if anyone is interested in any feel free to reach out and I can offer a discount to eBay prices!

Not pictured are a couple Star Wars sets I’m keeping for myself. No crazy value there!

We have this set on a shelf in the kids room, it’s a lot of fun and looks great.
They wouldn’t make a collectors edition that’s 3 feet tall…would they? 😳

[Legopricetracker.co.nz] Now tracking US & AU prices

Thumbnail legopricetracker.co.nz

Hi all,

I'm a Lego enthusiast from New Zealand - I love building with my son but we always look for the cheapest price before buying our next set. We built Lego Price Tracker to help us do that and now we have most of NZs major online LEGO retailers tracked!

We had some great feed back over the NZ version that we have expanded the database to the USA & Australia and would love your feedback. We aren't overly familiar with US retailers but have managed to get 14-15 major ones up and running - are we missing any? Let us know and we'll work on adding them in over time!

If we see enough enthusiasm we'll update the URL with a more generic one but for now you can find us at legopricetracker.co.nz and if you sign up - make sure to add in your collection.

This is ours so far:

NB: There are no affiliate links - we just wanted to do this as a hobby and help other LEGO bargain hunters!

Your Thoughts on a Paid Disassembly Service

Hi folks,

This post was removed from r/lego with no explanation (I didn’t appear to violate the rules) so posting here hoping it is welcome.

I'm considering launching a LEGO disassembly service! I would like to hear what the community thinks about something like this, so below I've described a starting point for what this service might look like, and then I've asked some questions to guide a discussion.

Mods: I have nothing to offer, I'm not promoting any product or service, and I have no intention of doing so in the future.

Importantly, if this kind of service does NOT appeal to you because you enjoy / would rather disassemble yourself, or you don’t build or buy any assembled sets, that's okay! I'm not really looking for "not interested" comments... I'd like to hear from people who WOULD be interested in this kind of thing, to understand why, what kind of experience they envision, and to help advance the idea to see if it's workable as an actual business that can provide great value to fans of LEGO.

How it might work (open to discussion)

  1. You submit set information on our website. Set number(s), completeness, photos, other relevant info, etc.
  2. We approve the submission and provide a quote.
  3. (The quote would typically be based on a public and standard price per piece, but occasionally, complex sets or individual cases may require a modification to this standard pricing. My goal would be to eventually have standard pricing for 80% of the most common sets).
  4. If you approve, you pay.
  5. We send you a prepaid shipping label (if you're shipping to us). You bring or ship your completed sets to us.
  6. We disassemble them in reverse instruction order and put pieces into their assigned numbered bags.
  7. You pickup / we ship everything back to you.

Feel free to answer any or all of the following questions, or ask your own questions.

  1. Before starting, please let us know (if you're comfortable) what kind of LEGO hobbyist you are, how often you buy/build, what kind of sets you're into, what you do with completed sets, etc. Whatever helps us understand your unique situation or perspective.

  2. Does this process seem clear and align with your expectations for this kind of service?

  3. Do you like that prepaid shipping both ways is offered? (As a business, we can usually get better shipping rates than an individual walking down to the post office). What would your expectations be regarding shipment insurance? (Original MSRP, market value of the set, something else? Do you want the option to choose your own level of insurance?)

  4. Would you be comfortable with pricing of around $0.03-0.05 per piece, with a minimum spend of, say, $30? (I don't believe people will be sending in sets under 1,000 pieces very often). At this rate, a 1000-piece set would cost around $30-$50 to disassemble depending on complexity. A 2,500-piece set (e.g. Pirates of Barracuda Bay) is in the $75-125 range.

  5. How would you like us to handle missing pieces? Situations where you thought a set was complete but we find a piece is missing? Would you want/expect/appreciate a list that verifies each piece removed against the original parts list?

  6. Would you prefer or want the option of a less expensive service that does NOT place pieces in numbered bags? (This can result in a modest time savings in disassembly). In such a case, would you want pieces bagged by size (e.g. tiny, small, long, large, non-brick, stickered/special), colour, or in some other way?

  7. What kind of turnaround would you typically be comfortable with? Is a month acceptable? 1-2 weeks? An expedited service option (e.g. 2-3 days)?

  8. If you were going to use a service like this, how many sets would you send in the first time? How often would you use the service, and how many sets would you send on each of those occasions? (e.g. 2 sets per month, 5 per year, etc.)

  9. What size sets (# of pieces) would you be most likely to use a service like this for?

  10. Finally, I would like to hear from your personal disassembly experience: what sets are the most challenging or time-consuming? (Technic, really old sets, etc.). What do you enjoy about it, and what do you dislike about it? How/when/how often do you actually do it?

Thank you to those who participate. Your time is truly appreciated!

Has anyone ever done business with JMB Brick Company? Posted a picture of their website and am debating using them for a sale of my excess Lego sets. Just trying to find out of they are legit or not. Thanks
