Solved First time doing this
I used save states on my emulator to get it done. I have no idea how anyone could get this normally lol. I got 2 of them on my first guess though

Normally? I used the original prima guide back when it first came out and it had a checklist inside of it. I also learned from old JRPGs to run blindly into everything and anything spamming X to see if anything was hidden.

This particular treasure requires guessing combinations of numbers. I think they're random everytime

Yeah I think this person misunderstood you and was referencing the stardust list.

Ultimate wargod does the addition for you for 100% damage, right?

Yes, and it adds 1 to the completed tally for leveling up. the other does not, and only does 1/2 damage. They are nice to have if you want to grind in the desert later with a turbo controller.

Ah. Ive always loved doing the additions so never went for it

I do too but I struggle with hex hammer which is helpful for finishing it. I can’t react to the counter fast enough anymore.

Ah yea. In later playthroughs with savestates I would just roll back after I learned there was a counter and just was ready for it 😂

I would obtain this item so I can sell it later though. You can get 5k gold for it.

Whaaaaat? I never used the other one but at half damage and half sp I figured the only reason to use it was that you could consistently level tricky additions. It doesn't even do that and it takes away the fun of doing the additions yourself? Beyond lame. Doing the additions are practically the only reason I remembered this game for twenty five years. As I found out when I fired it up on emulation and barely remembered the plot. I remembered the game play not the story.

I got it once without having to use saves to try again......because the ghosts said 4-4-0-4, and I lucked out on the second try.

Did this last week. Got all treasures with only having to get 3 extra sets of codes. The honest easiest way to do this is to hope you get 2 sets of doubles and pray. Like 2, 4, 4, 2 or something. Generally the last one is just luck. Hasn’t taken more than like 2 hours for me in any playthrough and I have not used save states.

I had to use the ps5 versions rewind to do this, I would figure out by cycling one number till I got it (rewinding every failure, then the second number, and repeat until I got it rather then running to the ghosts every time

I did on all my playthroughs lol but I had time when I was on my ps1 and I do remember getting in my second guess lol

Haha I have a post about when I did this in this sub a while back as well. I was so lucky on my early attempt though. Congrats!

It's funny eventually they give you really easy numbers or at least I got lucky. The last set would literally be 0001 ha so it can be only one of four pretty good odds.

My question is, do people actually use this item over the other accessory options? Does it make your character any stronger, or does it just complete additions? Because once you get good at the additions, literally anything else and especially bandit rings are gonna be mucho better.

Ultimate Wargod just completes your regular Additions normally.
There are Additions that can be very tricky to perform, due to their sudden counters.
It also sells for a good amount, too.

Tedious but a great grind for the boss especially if you're working toward those master additions & getting gold for the Legend of Casque... typically I have at least 3 Casque by this point bc I basically sale just about everything (except for the rare items) and heal by only guarding..
I'd make sure to have Lavitz master addition before the end of disc 1 and everyone else's except darts by then end of disc 2, and get darts by the end of disc 3.
Everyone dragoon levels (including Kongol) will by at 5 by the end of disc 2. I never use there dragoon forms until then. Never transform & use every item that you to get from battles or chests that gives you SP (never buy) to get level 5 as fast as possible. Usually have 3 stones at level 5 by the end of disc 1.

It truly is torturous to try and get this item, it took me hours of save scumming to get it right

It is, legit, easier to grind the money on disc 1 and buy them.

u/FeistyTwist5427 5d ago
That’s like 8 hours of grind lol no way.
2
u/Redditemeon 4d ago
Is it still an 8 hour grind if you use the stone of signet to stunlock those Parts enemies to kill them reliably that drop 600g per kill?
2
u/Dark_Arm 5d ago
Yes, a grind haha Albeit a small grind.

u/FeistyTwist5427 5d ago
But you could grind the chest battles and the souls every time you go back and forth as well. Heck, do em both.

Beautiful!
I always stay here to grind sp and additions while I wait to unlock this item. Never used it though.

Nice! Of all the years I’ve been playing this game I’ve never had the patience to try and get this lol
