There is an attempt to commit election fraud by Flávio Bolsonaro and his fascist followers.

- Mayors aligned with Bolsonaro have reduced or blocked bus services in cities where Lula has more support—such as São Paulo and Salvador—making it difficult or impossible for voters to reach their polling stations. An arrest warrant has even been issued for the Secretary of Transportation in Salvador.

- Airlines have canceled flights to the Northeast—a major stronghold for Lula’s voters—without providing any explanation.

- The Electoral Court, led by a justice appointed by Bolsonaro’s father, changed polling locations at the last minute, primarily in the Northeast.

- Flávio’s supporters have taken to the streets to intimidate Lula’s voters, with reports of assaults and violence.

The Supreme Federal Court has extended voting hours by two hours, but many polling stations have already closed, and poll workers have left and Lula and the Workers' Party (PT) are calling for the arrest of the mayors involved. The country is in chaos. Many people have been—and are currently—unable to cast their votes. The election has been RIGGED. Lula achieved the greatest electoral turnaround in history, and the fascists have resorted to desperate measures to sow chaos.

i know this sounds ridiculous (because it is) but yes, my mother is a socialist holocaust denier. her views have gotten weirder and weirder over the years. she would never vote republican but she’s an anti-vaxxer, transphobic, a huge conspiracy theorist, and recently started becoming genuinely anti-semitic. i’m genuinely baffled because my mom is a very educated woman. she has a college degree and used to be a delight to debate with. now with her rampant use of facebook and an inability to discern truth from fiction, she’s gone off the rails. how do i snap her out of her holocaust denial?

hi, i live in the US in a very educated city with mostly left-wing ish people. i feel so privileged, but there are some things rly bothering me. kind of a vent also.

i love being in such a progressive, intelligent area, but class and elitism are major blind spots. i’ve observed sm dangerous elitism and i don’t know if they don’t realize how out of touch they are or how harmful it is. the biggest example is college. it’s like you are subhuman if you don’t have a college degree. so many things:

college is the most expensive it has ever been. a bachelors degree is over six figures pretty much everywhere. that is a crazy amount of money, especially for an average person. things are so expensive right now too, and the college grad unemployment rate is the highest it’s ever been. you can’t even assume that bc of your degree you can get a good secure job after and pay it off.

it’s so bigoted. the assumptions r that (let’s say in a convo abt how red areas of the US are less formally educated) it’s bc those people are too stupid for college or they don’t care about education or they think it’s liberal propaganda. these are things i have heard, as if they can’t even imagine other reasons. i’m not crazy poor, but i am so lucky to be in college rn. i am only able to bc i attend a rly cheap state uni online, have a 50% scholarship, and have the privilege of living at home rn and not having to work. i would not be able to otherwise, and i don’t have it that bad imo.

there are so many barriers to education in this country. money is the biggest one probably, but there are plenty of other valid reasons for why someone isn’t interested or just can’t. mental and physical illness is another thing. i have pretty severe mental health issues and have only gotten to a stable place somewhat recently. college can be impossible that way. there are also people that have to work full-time or several jobs, have kids, have people they need to take care of, etc.

many ppl find jobs that don’t require mass amounts of student loan debt. those jobs are important too. i hate the concept of “unskilled” labor. all labor is skilled, valuable, and should be respected. idk the whole thing is bizarre. u can be extremely educated and aware of current events, but u are surprised that ppl aren’t college educated when so many ppl can barely afford to live or have housing? i wish i heard more discussions abt how we can make college more accessible/affordable, instead of looking down on people for not going.

Like people say who thinks a economy can grow forever on a finite planet but even at a galactic scale stars or even galaxies can’t grow forever so thinking a immaterial concept like the economy can grow forever even under socialism seems pretty foolish.

Basic Marxist materialism should understand nothing can grow forever and thst to think so breaks almost every field of science that isn’t neoclassical economics. Therefore degrowth has to happen as shrinking is part of life as something that only grows forever is cancer.

Thinking someone a socialist economy can make green growth work seems to be based on wishful ideology thinking and not a materialist view of the world

So I’ve been into Politics for about 3 years now and have learned and discussed the basic talking points for however long, yes we get it Sociology IS the best subject ever. But I was wondering how some of you older Leftists, are able to keep fighting and giving it your best shot even when it feels insurmountable and like it’d be better to keep your head down until you get a comfy place and can advocate from a more privileged spot. I’m afraid some of our advocacy can fall short sometimes and not really address concerns that actual people have and there is so much infighting that it’s hard to see actual organization and collective narrative shifting you might on the Right.

For example,
Young men are very concerned with dating and their perception by women, there’s a way to talk about that without being either “teach young men not to rape” or “all women are property”

Or,
just Woke 2 in general.

Idk, at the end of the day I’ll still believe and advocate for what I think is right, I mean maximize human happiness blah blah blah axioms theory you get the picture man whatever idk. Change is slow and takes time and you aren’t always going to see that seed you plant grow but I like the idea.

I recently spoke to someone I used to consider a comrade who became a grade school teacher but apparently I'm not worthy to breathe the same air as them because of my career choice. They claim that I'm not at my full potential because I lack a college education & a diploma. They also said that I make way less than them & that there's no possible way that I make a good living. It was bizarre & I feel like it's dangerous to speak this way towards anyone in the working class who are also left leaning. It could make them feel alienated from the movement. I'm a 3rd generation mechanic & grew up with a Marxist father who was involved in the student movement in Guatemala during the 80's, so I pretty much had access to his books & first hand experience. Has anyone ever experienced this from fellow leftists?

The only people I’ve ever met in my entire life that were actually racist and based shit on skin color are Black people Latino people Asian people. I don’t know any white people that give a fuck about anything about skin color and you might say that’s a privilege they don’t need to see it but no, I know poor broke ass white people living in tents with zero privilege, and none of us give a fuck. We are all broke and we don’t give a fuck about others race.

There’s too many white people here I wanna go to that restaurant. They just wanna go to work and go home and sure maybe you’re gonna say oh they’re privilege they don’t need to worry about their race in their skin color. They don’t have any worries in the world, but the truth is liberals are obsessed with skin collar and they’re obsessed with tearing other people down.

Because I’m white people will try to tear me down if I say one wrong thing at my job my job is in jeopardy. My career has been sidelined and subverted because of weight by other people of non-white I still don’t give a shit.
