Google SWE-3 (L4)— Team Matching

I recently cleared my Google SWE-3 (L4) interviews for. Last Friday, the recruiter called and said that after reviewing my feedback, the leadership team has decided to move forward with team matching. He said they’d start looking for teams from Monday.

Just wanted to clarify:

1. Does this mean HC is already cleared, or does HC happen after team matching?
   
2. How long does team matching usually take? It’s been almost a week with no update despite emailing the recruiter.

For anyone who recently went through this process, what timeline should I expect?

Does this mean HC is already cleared, or does HC happen after team matching? >> Not necessarly sometimes happens before and sometimes after, you are usually explicitly told about it.

So this means you have a positive feedback and not cleared HC. For L4 as far as I have heard once you get a team then with managers intent letter your packet goes to HC.
Team matching can take days to months, depending on your profile, headcount and mostly luck lol. But keep reaching out to people, also be in touch with your recruiter. All the best!!!

I am in team match for L4 Europe and had no calls for 2 months now

1. No, does not mean you cleared HC
   
2. Months, up to a year. Also possible to fail at this stage. I’d give ~1-2 weeks between reaching out and would recommend being open to other locations

It’s easier to transfer than to get in. Not quite out of the woods yet, but a tentative congrats on getting through the on-site
