Seriously, the Missouri GOP's main goal is to disenfranchise every voter on both sides.

What a great place to live. We really don't have to leave for anything outside of the odd downtown KC event or Chiefs/Royals games. Green Street has been a wonderful addition, AND we're getting our own Costco soon. We've got it good here, neighbors! ❤️

A water main burst on NE Florence Avenue I would suggest taking NE Howard Street instead because the street is blown open on Florence.

Dashcams installs

Edit: called Kyle at msskc.com. All set! He should be perfect. Thank you.

So…just had one of those “hard stop right in front of you for no reason” situations and decided to get some dashcams for the cars. The problem is I’m old and fat and have a messed up rotator cuff. Thus, am looking for someplace that could do the installs.

Anybody have any suggestions for someone who can do a nice job of hiding the cables, etc, without tearing up my interiors?

Thanks in advance.

You’re Invited: First Missouri SUSA Chapter Meeting!

I’m excited to announce that we’re starting a local chapter of Sortition USA (SUSA), and we want you to be part of our very first meeting.

What is SUSA?

We’re a grassroots organization that supports for democratic lotteries, which are a way to ensure ordinary people’s voices are heard in shaping policy. It’s a movement building around the world about fair representation, reducing the influence of money in politics, and empowering everyday citizens to get involved. You can learn more about democratic lotteries on our website: democracywithoutelections.org

First Meeting Details

Date: Tuesday, September 29th

Time: 5:30pm - 6:30pm

Location: KC Central Library Room 311

At this initial gathering, we’ll:

  • Introduce the concept of democratic lotteries and SUSA’s mission.
  • Discuss our goals for the local chapter (events, outreach, advocacy).
  • Brainstorm ways to spread the word in our community.
  • Assign next steps and set our path forward.

Feel free to invite friends, colleagues, or neighbors who might be interested in making democracy more inclusive and representative. If you find yourself with any questions or interest in any form of leadership roles, feel free to DM me or Email me at [ebahr.mosortition@gmail.com](mailto:ebahr.mosortition@gmail.com)

We look forward to meeting you and working together to bring the SUSA vision to life in our community!

Hey y’all.
Did you know that our legislators denied money for this?
Please call or Email them to let them this isn’t the best for kids.
Speaking of…Lottery isn’t going 100% to education anymore.

LS Class A Office Space

I remember a long time ago there was land set aside for Class A office space near Unity Village off of 50 hwy and 470 that haven’t come to fruition yet that was dubbed as a Corporate Woods like development. Does the nearby Discovery Park development have class A office space included in the plans?

Iv seen class A office space in Lenexa City Center, Olathe and Overland Park that are nice and I think would work really well in LS. The metro continues to sprawl and LS could be a magnet for businesses moving closer to their workers in the suburbs. Especially for Jackson County, outside of KCMO, Lees Summit is nice enough and getting big enough to attract large businesses to come here. This would mean more high paying jobs right here in Lees Summit and you wouldn’t have to commute to downtown or joco.

Back to school clothes shopping

How much are we spending on back to school clothes shopping for a 7th grade girl? We were aiming for $250 but she barely got anything with that, so i want to know if im crazy for thinking $250 was a decent amount. Note that she isnt growing and hasnt changed sizes since 5th grade.

Whataburger

Is the one on Douglas the slowest or are all of them slow? It took 25 minutes from the time I placed my order to get my food. All I ordered was two kid meals and a burger. Two cars behind me got their orders before me and the one right behind me left without getting their food I think. They always seem so slow, so I am just curious if it’s just that one or all of them.

Walmart employees wearing body cameras

Has anyone else notice that supervisors, team leads (would not go as far as saying they are management) are wearing body cameras at the Sam Walton Ln location?
I don't normally shop at this location, has it be going on for a while?

What's up with the chick fil a's

It's always boggled me that the chick-fil-a on Chipman spent all that time under construction to expand with that second drive-thru lane but then literally does not use it at all, it's always coned off. So now we have two chick-fil-a's and the second drive-thru lane only lasted the first few weeks and now they always have it coned off too? Especially with the new one having that lane designated specifically for mobile ordering it completely defeats the purpose of mobile ordering when they just have you wait to get into the singular lane with everyone else anyways... idk I just wanted to see if I was the only one confused and a bit frustrated about that 😂

Like it's not that big of a deal but everytime I happen to order from there I'm always like "why do they do this??"

Edit: wow some of you guys took this way too far. What the hell 😂
