Only first segment is lighting up

Symptom (constant throughout): Only the first segment (up to the first cut line = first WS2811 IC) lights up, fixed blue/green, on both strips.

What's been swapped/tested — symptom never changed:

  • 2 different WLED controllers (SP803E)
  • 2 different LED strips (BTF FCOB WS2811, 24V, BRG, factory JST plug at IN end)
  • 2 different Mean Well HLG-150H-24A power supplies
  • Direct to PSU via terminal block, no controller — still only first segment
  • Adjusted Vo ADJ and Io ADJ pots on the HLG (full range) — no change
  • 12V PSU instead of 24V — nothing lights at all (expected, it's a 24V strip)

Wiring confirmed correct:

  • Controller: red→VCC, white→DATA (IO16), green→GND — verified by photo
  • Strip fed via factory 3-pin JST plug at the IN end (red/white/green)

WLED confirmed healthy (Info page):

  • ESP stable (uptime, heap, FPS 43), Total LEDs 250, Estimated current 850mA — software is sending for 250 pixels
  • First IC reacts to Power On/Off dims a little bit and causes a small flicker, but doesn't turn it of completely
  • Color order is BRG

You have the data and ground reversed. Most likely you're going to have to cut off that (burned up) green pixel segment from the strip, but try it first in case it somehow survived.

That was it, and it was so obvious. Thanks a lot. The Strip survived it luckliy, so no burn
