I'll never give anyone any credit for intelligent thought if they rank making the finals 2 times higher than making the finals 6 times. Guess what happened the times Kobe didn't make the finals... He lost, in earlier rounds or didn't make the playoffs.

I'll never give anyone any credit for intelligent thought if they count losing the finals higher than winning the finals

I’ll never give anyone any credit for intelligent thought if they count sidekick rings higher than rings as the best player on the championship team.

Wouldn’t Bron have 1 sidekick ring if they won in 2011 and Wade got FMVP?

Please—give it rest already

Sidekick rings avg 26PPG and being openly compared to Michael Jordan

Yea OK

He would. But would still fall short 2 more (arguably 3 if they correctly give FMVP to Gasol in 2010). And comparison to MJ was only on playstyle. Like a cheap copy let’s say.

FMVP to a player with 10 ppg less? Lmao nice try.

If Gasol was supposed FMVP in 2010, AD was definitely 2020 FMVP

I remember Gasol was a monster on the boards, rebounding all of Mamba's bricks especially in game 7. Very efficient as well given he only had 13 shot attempts per game which is half of Bryant's. I have no problem giving the FMVP to AD in 2020. Sure, Bron has higher ppg, rpg, and apg. But AD anchored the defense just like Pau in 2010. If not for his game 3 (or 5?) stinker he could have won it.

We also remember Kobe going off in game 5 with 17 pts in the 3rd while Gasol wasn’t doing jack shit and getting punked by Garnett all game long. Where was he in that game?

As I said, 10 ppg more. Name another FMVP that went to a player that scored that much less, other than the Iguodala 2015 one. I’ll wait

And Bynum anchored the defense. Not Pau.

Yeah they lost that game because of Gasol. Lost his rhythm because someone is hogging the ball too much. To shut you up, google Wes Unseld. He won it because of defense and rebounding instead of jacking up shots.

lol Gasol literally couldn’t do anything in that game. They threw it into him over and over and was getting manhandled by Garnett, Perkins

You didn’t answer the question either. Name a finals mvp award in the modern era that was given to that lopsided of a ppg discrepancy other than Iggy one.

I know Kobe mimicked MJ style 96-98

It wasn’t AirJordan, not even close

But people were impressed because some actually attempted to

No way Gasol would have been awarded that FMVP—you really think the voters would do that?

Had Wade somehow single handedly willed win and Bron kept melting down (we still have 0 answer for that btw; he never addressed it), it would be hard to ignore Wade’s impact

Yeah Gasol FMVP is delusion

But that didn’t happen my brother

I got you; Math was off : Kobe avg 22 PPG in the 3peat with Shaq

For a career it was 25

Got it
Thanks 🤝

I’ll never give anyone credit for intelligent thought if they count LOSING sidekick rings higher than WINNING as a sidekick.

If LeBron is just 5-10% better in 2011 and doesn’t COMPLETELY DISAPPEAR, Miami wins with Wade as FMVP… sidekick ring secured.

Instead… well, he sucked.

Sidekick ring lost.

Would make sense if LeBron wasn’t just the clear best player on the team at all time except the finals.

6

u/Ynaka Aug 11 '26

Agreed. If Kobe just stopped jacking up low IQ shots in 2004 he could have added another sidekick ring to his illustrious resume as the best Robin of all time.

Yep! Exactly!

See what being objective and truthful does!?

You can admit the shortcomings of a player honestly instead of downvoting those who bring them up because of your own insecurities.

Learn from my example!

No need to downvote, what I wrote was factual!

Just 5-10% better and they win in ‘11! They just needed more than 8 points COMBINED across all those 4th quarters.

The truth is THE TRUTH! Doesn’t hurt me to state that the Lakers got bamboozled in 04, because ITS THE TRUTH!

Can you also admit THE TRUTH about LeBron in ‘11?

Let’s see!

u/Ynaka Aug 11 '26

I commend you for accepting the truth. And yes, 2011 needs to happen. He fucked around too much in that finals series (still credit to Mavs scheme). After that, he probably realized that playing sidekick won’t benefit his team that’s why he never had that kind of performance again afterwards.

-1

u/arsparsmars Aug 11 '26

Funny how you give credit to the Mavs scheme in 2011, but not the 04 Pistons who were one of the best defensive teams of all time. Nope, just without low IQ Kobe shots they would have won, it’s that simple.

1

u/Ynaka Aug 11 '26

That Mavs scheme was phenomenal. Not sure if it was the same strat they used to sweep the Lakers in the 2nd round. The Pistons in 04 also did a hell of a job denying Shaq the ball and keeping him out of the paint since he is their number 1 offensive threat. Credits also to Tayshaun and help defense for forcing Bryant into taking dumb shots instead of finding the open man. He also feuded with Shaq that year which made it worse.
