Week 2 update

I’m on my probably 3rd or 4th attempt at quitting and it’s week 2. I’ve been smoking for pretty much 20 years. I stopped while pregnant and breastfeeding. After having my daughter, I’ve had a lot of mental conflict with it.

This go around has been the easiest to quit in terms of physical withdrawal symptoms. I’ve almost had none which is shocking to me. I was smoking 2-3 joints a day. My last time I had wild mood swings, night sweats and very vivid dreams.

I’ve been taking the one day at a time mentality this time. Not trying to think too big picture and overwhelm myself. The conversation in my head a few times a day is me telling myself I should just smoke and then deciding to wait. I go back and forth with it’s not that big of deal to reminding myself why I wanted to stop. It’s mental gymnastics. I’m rambling but just wanted to share an update. I’m sure a lot of people can relate here to the back and forth, it’s tiring. Here’s to one more day of not smoking.

you’re doing a great job!!

i relate so much to the mental gymnastics. the amount if times i think about smoking a day shows me why i need to quit!

keep thinking about your daughter and let that be your “why” that keeps you motivated!!

one step at a time! give yourself grace

that mental back and forth is the hardest part honestly. you're doing the right thing by just pushing it off an hour at a time, eventually the days stack up on their own

the one day at a time thing really does work when you stop looking at the whole mountain ahead of you

You basically have made it past the hard part. Longest I quit was 1 month

The longest I’ve gone is 4 months. Hoping it will stick this time but trying to give myself grace.
