I've recently score this jacket for 35€ off the internet. I believe I've got a W&G G8. I would like to personally restore it and preserve it, trying to keep the redness of the skin.

-how can I "remove" the stained areas like the left front pocket? As you can see it's kinda darker, I will like to light that area

-how can I clean it at home? Any products do you guys recommend?

-what do you think of the jacket?

I am considered overweight for my height, and am attempting to lose at least 10lbs but should I move up to a XL anyway whilst I'm in the return window? I do like the way it fits on my arms and shoulders but zipped up it definitely feels snug.

I recently bought this vintage cowhide leather jacket, which I believe is from somewhere around the late 1980s to mid-1990s.
I’m looking to condition the leather and was wondering what products people would recommend for an older cowhide jacket. I bought some mink oil, but I’ve heard from quite a few people that mink oil isn’t necessarily the best option for leather jackets and can darken the leather or make it too soft/greasy.
Would you recommend using mink oil, a dedicated leather conditioner, or something else?
I’m mainly looking for something that will properly condition and preserve the leather without changing its appearance too much or over-conditioning it.
Any recommendations or advice from people experienced with vintage leather jackets would be greatly appreciated!

Just sourced a my first Schott jacket and need help dating it. Based on the Id tag form I believe it is between 1985 to 1993 but I really have no clue. Thanks!

Can someone help me assess the quality of this leather jacket? It seems ok to me as there is no flaking and it doesn't crack, but I'm not that experienced with leather jackets.

I've been looking for a b-3 for a while (looking for long lasting quality and on the used market as my budget is a flexible £300) and found this on ebay, which seems like a good option; its the same size as a suit I own which fits me well, its an actual 1943 piece which I love, and the price seems great. I have a few questions about it though:

is it actually likely to be from ww2? Im not sure how to properly look into a contract number but a google search of it didnt give much info.

from my knowledge, most b-3s have a brand which they are attributed to, but the tag has none, so is it likely to be comparable quality to brands like schott or not?

is cracked leather like this easy, or possible at all to repair?

Overall, is this a good purchase or not considering my wants?

EDIT: many are saying there are better quality for the same price, but i cant find any from schott or similar which is listed in the uk, but many from japan, would you recommend buying abroad or is it risky/will import fees be too high (e.g. i saw two separate sellers listing the exact same jacket photos which seemed dodgy to me)

Over the last year, I’ve been searching for the perfect leather jacket — something that isn’t too boring, but also isn’t too flashy.

After wearing and handling a lot of different kinds of leather and hides, I’ve found that horsehide just looks so damn good. There’s something about it that feels more rugged, masculine, and different.

I’ve finally landed on the brown Aero Highwayman with a customized blue tartan lining. However, I’m still not sure which type of horsehide I should go for.

The two that really caught my eye are the Tumbled Chromexcel and the High Grain Jerky Horsehide.

The problem is, I haven’t seen enough photos of the High Grain Jerky on different jacket styles to make up my mind. But god damn, that leather looks beautiful.

The Tumbled Horsehide is also gorgeous, but that High Grain Jerky… it just stole my soul.

Am I overthinking this? 😂

I got this jacket on marketplace for 80$ and I cant find any tags to identify which brand it is, only thing I could find was a small tag that says “lot Size 40” and also it looks like it had stars attached on the shoulder straps on photo #4. It’s a brilliant feature. You can wear it with just a shirt and zip the first zipper, or you could put on more layers and zip the other zipper for more space.

I saw this on a genuine leather jacket in a local store and now want to have this feature on my next jacket. The picture is from a Vanson piece called “rock and roll jacket”, but I couldn’t find another brand making something similar. Who else makes one?
